All a bit odd this obsession with how many other men watch an activity isn’t it? When I go to the pub I don’t think how many other blokes are in. Or when I take the kids to the cinema I don’t think ‘it’s a disgrace that only 30 turned up for ghost busters’. Why does it matter if 200 go to Doncaster to watch a different sport? Seems to me both clubs have a similar following. Does it really matter?

Excellent comment, well said!

Yet you have single-handedly closed down the comments section of the WEP with your obsession on the support of a sport you claim to hate.

Fucking Hypocrite
Did you go to Doncaster on Friday? A simple yes or no will do.

Fuck the EFL

I’d have thought the club would be swamped with requests for season tickets at the ridiculous rice being charged.
Can’t understand fair weather fans and their ridiculous mentality .

What utter bollocks i know school holidays it just shows we are now a small fish in a rather very big pond other clubs will support their clubs in or out of season last year we had a lot of cling ons and it’s back to reality.

Well said Grumpy.

Some folk on here are very quick to criticise others for not attending games that are televised, games arranged at short-notice, games that are miles away in the evening etc, but then when it comes down to it they don’t actually attend cheaply priced games, and don’t even invest in a season ticket that would pay for itself if they committed to attending 9 fucking home games. Less than 600 tickets sold for Bristol City and less than 6000 season tickets sold is an absolute disgrace at that price.
a. It’s only Tuesday, we play on Saturday
b. Direct link to the ‘less than 6000’ made up BS please

TIA

Single handedly closed down the comments page!!!! ffs. I reckon the fact that the Posts Rugby heroes or their fans had come under any critism from anywhere they would close down a comments section and if the critism had come from a Latics Mon that gives them an even bigger excuse.
Rugby Post always has been and always will be.

Mutty, Where have you heard about ‘less than 6,000 Season Tickets’ ?

I’ve no idea whether that’s right or wrong but I wasn’t aware the club had said anything on the subject (although they may have??)

Same place he heard less than 600 sold for Brizzle. Initial allocation of 1200 almost gone and clubs are in talks over extra tickets.

Some on here cant effin wait to find negatives instead of giving the club backing.

I for one can not work out what is good away support or bad away support. Any support away at Bristol is good support and the fans that do go every credit to them.

Unfortunately we enjoy other stuff apart from Footie. It’s my Mrs Birthday on Saturday and we will be at Green Fest in Orrell – music is just as important as Football in our lives.

i was in Bristol this afternoon actually. Its a place I love being a student there from 75-78.Before the fixtures were announced it was one away game we had earmarked. The date put the mockers on that I’m afraid. :(

Club have said the initial allocation of 1200 has nearly sold out. Not too bad in the end.
Let’s hope we put in a good performance, get a result and go away happy.

Well done to all the travelling fans. As your numbers and fantastic support are a credit.
Superb show by you all.
Come on you Blues. YAMS.

The Latics away support never ceases to amaze me Ian’s what a brilliant loyal bunch we have.
The eggs poor support never ceases to amaze me either given that we live in this mythic ‘rugby town ‘ where everyone in sight wears cherry and white allegedly.
Whatever the reasons its very clear that we now have firmly become a football town and the rugby has lost a generation of supporters after the games shift to summer back in 1995.

I wouldn’t exactly call the eggs support bad. They are consistently the best supported club in their sport. It is just that the sport they participate in is just generally piss poorly supported. But it is a minority sport that gets over hyped in the media. Rugby League is probably as popular as League One football sliding down to Conference One level in terms of support but proportionatly coverage in the media is far higher than Leagues One and Two and The Conference and Conference One. If the media did look at the Worriers without Cherry and Shite glasses they may see that the 11-13 thousand they get on including freebies and away support in a league full of derbies is not that brilliant compared to what Latics get on who are surrounded by huge clubs and huge clubs who attract support locally.

#149751

Do you actually proof-read your stuff before you type it, or are you really so full of bullshit that you don’t realise it….

You have effectively said that the rugby get 13000 in a league full of derbies, then go on to say the football only get that figure because of all the local competition. Are the local competition in football not derbies, like the rugby, or are the other rugby clubs not local competition like the football? Don’t forget too that Wigan Warriors also have to compete for support with all these “other sports” fans, as money is in short supply and many will have to make a choice between attending a rugby or a football fixture.

Despite these tough economic times, are you also aware that it is over a decade since Wigan Warriors last had a home regular season league game at the DW watched by less than 10,000 people?

Now get your head out of your arse and get your ST bought, tight wad.
