5 June 2013 at 11:32 am #115375According to the Telegraph.Just saw that myself on Sky. Can’t be true, can it? Why would he?
If he does, it will be a severe test of my “I will get behind any manager and give him a chance” mantra.
Just can’t see it.

I can see why Whelan would be interested in Bruce, but not necessarily the other way round, given that he is the Premier with Hull.
5 June 2013 at 1:09 pm #115384I didn’t think he would dump Birmingham for us, but he did. I think I remember him comparing our squad favourably to theirs. He could do so again. As we all know, he’s partial to a move, european football and a move back to the NW might be attractive.
DW might be prioritising a quick return to the prem before footballing styles and training ground academies.Horses for courses and all that.
Just paper talk at the moment though.
5 June 2013 at 1:21 pm #115386Yeah, like I say though, I can see why it would appeal to Whelan but I can’t see why Bruce would want to drop down to the Championship having just got himself back into the Premier League
5 June 2013 at 1:54 pm #1153945 June 2013 at 2:04 pm #115396150/1 with Ladbrokes last night (Midnight) now 5/1 with Ladbrokes.. Bookies not daft are they?
Money Talks and if Whelan is serious about backing a promotion push then Bruce may be tempted by the chance of back to back promotions with 2 different clubs.. His stock would rise then he can be tempted by a big money move to somewhere else (For the 3rd time!)
Think there’s going to be many more rumours, twists and turns before this one gets sorted..!
5 June 2013 at 2:31 pm #115399Ok, he left us, but was it not for better money, bigger club etc ? RM leaves us and all is forgiven with the ” Well you cant blame him ” mantra filling the air ! There is no difference in my opinion and if Bruce was to come back it would be a good move in my book ( Which hasn’t been written yet so you will have to put up with Griff’s 2 efforts for now ! ) The Darkside and Lightside roles will be reversed ! Our time will come !

Just like you couldn’t see Bob walking away from us ! ;) Here’s hoping !
5 June 2013 at 3:57 pm #115412It must be hard for Whelan to decide what is best for the club at the moment. Does Roberto leaving mean that our passing philosophy is over?
He may see Bruce as a chance for a quick return to the original plan of growing within the premier league whilst temporarily foregoing the clubs ethos.
Or does he go for someone like Meulensteen and keep up our pretty football but risk being cut apart in the hustle and bustle of the championship. I think Whelan will play it safe and look to a manager he already knows or someone who has the knack in the championship.
No one can have a dig at it him though as relegation brings so many changes within a football club that it is hard to retain the current structure of the club.
Good luck Dave.
5 June 2013 at 5:08 pm #115414I can’t see why Bruce would want to drop down to the Championship having just got himself back into the Premier LeagueMaybe Bruce has been refused the finacial backing he considers necessary to survive in the Premiership and is about to spit his dummy out and maybe he’s been offered a better deal to come here?
5 June 2013 at 5:32 pm #115417Here’s a poser.
Would you prefer Bruce or Coyle?
