What a journey!When Bruce left and was replaced with Martinez it heralded a change in direction for the club. Out went the policy of signing established players and journeymen on inflated wages and in came the philosphy of bringing younger players to the club and the promise of an academy to further this development.
I can’t believe Whelan will go back to the previous regime under Bruce even if he may have put the academy on hold pending a return to the Premiership. And I can’t believe Bruce would want to work under the current structure and financial restraints which, if the stories are to be believed, was the reason he left us back in 2009.
Who were these journeymen that bruce signed ?

I never said Bruce was responsible for signing any journeymen. He just happened to be the last manager to preside over the policy at that time of signing established players, journeymen maybe, on high salaries and long contracts.
All those players you mention could arguably be classed as journeymen but they weren’t on the same kind of salaries as the likes of Marlon King, Kirkland, Bramble and Heskey were reputed to be.I had found some peace with Bruce today .

Marlon King was a panic buy of monumental proportions. Bruce had £5m burning a hole in his pocket come the end of that January transfer window and King was the best he could muster.

Yes , Boselli is completely and utterly a better player than Marlon King.
Obviously it falls down to opinions again but I think Boselli is the type of player who if you feed him the chances he will score.
He had a terrible service for 99% of his time here unfortunately and I was hoping to see more from him last season.
I think he would work better alongside another striker especially in the ilk of Kone and as it seems the man has another year on his contract we could see if that is the case or not under a new manager with different ideas.
Anyway the stats speak for themselves when comparing Boselli to King.
Boselli 5 goals in 15 starts
King 1 goal in 18 starts
And why the insinuation that Bramble was guilty?
He was cleared of all charges following the police investigation.

You seem to have adopted some kind of irrational desire to defend Bruce against allegations that haven’t actually been made. Where exactly have I said that Bruce was responsible for signing any of those four players?
