I personally didn’t like the way Bruce left us when he went to Sunderland.
There was no reason in the world to come out with the Harrods- Tesco comment whichever way you want to interpret it, he dissed our club in his first fekin interview, the twort. Then within weeks he had the audacity to come straight back to tescos for Catts and Bramble.
No Bruce for me please, new era, new challenges, new hope, totally new manager please! :)
agree with your anti Bruce sentiments but I honestly can’t think of anyone better to get us out the championship.
like I said before though its a complete non story IMO.
he didn’t sign bramble til the season after he left BTW …
I am still having nightmares about brambles terrible long passes under martinez…
I stand to be corrected squire. :P
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!6 June 2013 at 4:34 am #115497When Bruce left and was replaced with Martinez it heralded a change in direction for the club. Out went the policy of signing established players and journeymen on inflated wages and in came the philosphy of bringing younger players to the club and the promise of an academy to further this development.
I can’t believe Whelan will go back to the previous regime under Bruce even if he may have put the academy on hold pending a return to the Premiership. And I can’t believe Bruce would want to work under the current structure and financial restraints which, if the stories are to be believed, was the reason he left us back in 2009.
Who were these journeymen that bruce signed ?
I suppose caldwell, scharner, scotland, david jones, alcaraz and kone are not journey men are they ?
I never said Bruce was responsible for signing any journeymen. He just happened to be the last manager to preside over the policy at that time of signing established players, journeymen maybe, on high salaries and long contracts.
All those players you mention could arguably be classed as journeymen but they weren’t on the same kind of salaries as the likes of Marlon King, Kirkland, Bramble and Heskey were reputed to be.6 June 2013 at 4:43 am #115498I had found some peace with Bruce today .
that all just ended when you mentioned Marlon king Sammy.
£5 million pounds for that woman beating scum.
even LMB would struggle to defend that one.
worst signing ever in the history of Wigan athletic.
6 June 2013 at 4:47 am #115499and while I am on one wtf was he thinking when he signed Oliver kapo and Daniel de ridder???
kapo speaks for itself in terms of Bruce being a retard but get ridder made Gary teale look like ronaldo.
6 June 2013 at 5:00 am #115500Marlon King was a panic buy of monumental proportions. Bruce had £5m burning a hole in his pocket come the end of that January transfer window and King was the best he could muster.
de Ridder I have some sympathy for. At least I thought he tried.
Kapo never ever, wanted to come and play for us and it showed.
I’m sure his bank balance didn’t suffer in the same way we did.Yes, all great signings……!

What worse than bosseli ?
King is a scumbag lowlife, but so was bramble who has just managed to evade the law unlike king.

Yes , Boselli is completely and utterly a better player than Marlon King.
Obviously it falls down to opinions again but I think Boselli is the type of player who if you feed him the chances he will score.
He had a terrible service for 99% of his time here unfortunately and I was hoping to see more from him last season.
I think he would work better alongside another striker especially in the ilk of Kone and as it seems the man has another year on his contract we could see if that is the case or not under a new manager with different ideas.
Anyway the stats speak for themselves when comparing Boselli to King.
Boselli 5 goals in 15 starts
King 1 goal in 18 starts
6 June 2013 at 1:25 pm #115512And why the insinuation that Bramble was guilty?
He was cleared of all charges following the police investigation.
I think that speaks for itself without some village idiot sharpening his pitch fork.

You seem to have adopted some kind of irrational desire to defend Bruce against allegations that haven’t actually been made. Where exactly have I said that Bruce was responsible for signing any of those four players?
