I wouldn’t say he was shite or even awful, but he certainly was no world beater. He will not be missed in the slightest. We will have Morgan (granted, no world beater himself, but no worse than Buxton) and young Jack Hendry both available again this season, along with any new recruits we may get in.
I just wished that a little honesty would be used instead of bullshit like wanting to be near Notts. FFS I travelled further as a fan every home game even in the 90s when things were dire. Mostly I would come straight from work. If the lad wants away and go to another club then just say that of if the club wants to reduce the wage bill then be upfront about it. Fans will respect it more. Buxton will be a Brewer before the season starts.If travelling is the issue, i’ll be getting season tickets for runcorn linnetts instead ;)

True, but the mere fact he’s willing to talk to Notts Co suggests it’s the East Mids location that’s attractive, not the league position.As I said before, he’s never lived away from the area until last season – and even being a couple of hours away was too much of a strain.
