If we got a buy one get one free season ticket offer, we would lose half our season tickets overnight. Don’t kid yourself. The fact is that we need to be winning regularly to fill the ground. Our problem ever since we made the premiership was that on big games when we filled the ground we tended to lose, fans didn’t want to come back.

You wish they would film the game from the East stand, that way it would always look better for the media.

South Stand should be £100 adults, £30 a season kids, or even £19 a season for kids. That way no-one can moan if we have “quid a kid days” as well. They might as well do it dirt cheap as it’s empty most games anyway.

The East/West £150 – £180 quid a season. I know its “Cheap as Chips” but if they can push the marketing and advertising out to the community and North West they could sell close to 15-16000 which isn’t far off selling 10,000 at £250 apieace. And they should get them on sale now and fix the price no matter what division we are in. The ticket revenue is only around a tenth of the tv money so why not do something revolutionary? Its sad that something like this is necessary but this is Wigan, half the crowd was getting into Springfield Park with a borrowed dole card to save three quid

I think we’d be better copying Bradford/Huddersfield and say season ticket prices depend on how many are sold by a fixed date. So if we sold 20,000 for example we could have them for say £150, the price rising as the numbers sold reduces. In these places these schemes have worked a treat, created a buzz and increased crowds massively

How would that work exactly, not questioning you just trying to understand. Do you mean the first ‘however’ many, pay more than the people who get it later? Or you all pay on that set date for the ticket, or you get some money back when that date has come if you have paid more for your ticket due to getting it earlier (if the prices have decreased)?

i think it would also be a good idea to sell tickets before the match? This year is the 1st year ive not had a season ticket in ages due to work. I went for some tickets on saturday morning and i was told i cant purchase any therefore i couldnt go to the game. I was quite disheartened and gutted.

I think that was more to do with the local plod sticking their beak in again and advising the club not to sell tickets on the day ,might be wrong though

No,Jemmy, he means that the first 5000 get a cheap(er) ticket than say the next 5000, then when the next 2000 are sold the first 5000 get a portion back, but not as much as the second 5000. When another 5000 are sold the first 5000 get some more back as do the second 5000, but not as much again as the first lot and then the third 5000 get a little bit back, lets say £20, then when the 4th 5000 are sold there will be nowt left to give back so everyone gets a free pie.
            Simple

can’t possibly be right that people get cheaper tickets than others, that doesn’t seem like anything that would happen. I think the season tickets are cheap enough as it is and have no problem paying what I do anyway to be honest, they’re cheap

ahhh well i can see the problem, but what annoyed me the most was id had previous season tickets etc which i could have easily proved, obviously im not an everton fan trying to get a last minute ticket.

I bet other teams charge more than £20 for a ten year old vs arsenal, In comparison I think it’s quite cheap, but I do agree that a ten year old shouldn’t have to have £20 paid for him to get in. I have no problem paying the prices we charge for St’s (to be more precise) :)

when you say more precise, do you mean definitely or strictly stated, defined, or fixed, or something else?

:D Very sensible suggestion Horc, think you should pass it on, they might have to tweak it a bit south stand as there are quite a few kids used to free tickets from school. Our admin should be able to work out which to give free tickets for and which to charge.

How about a longer term loyalty scheme for those that buy frequent tickets, but can’t justify paying for a full ST?

Loyalty points/credits would accrue and then determine your discount level.

The more games you attend, the better prices you get. Obviously the prices wouldn’t fall quite as low as a ST, but certainly wouldn’t rise to anywhere near the £28 quoted on here for the Everton game.

The cheaper tickets could be limited to certain parts of the ground, etc.

This should also allow the club to discriminate in their pricing between home and away supporters.

Furthermore, it encourages more purchases in order to keep/get the best discount level.

It’s a sort of cross between Tesco Clubcard and British Airways Exec Club.
