It was a good display by the team and to say we were unlucky is wrong. Unlucky means deflections og’s etc…poor finishing wasn’t unlucky.
And let’s not forget Marshalls save as well, excellent save. Massey for me simply isn’t good enough and although Moore never fails in putting a shift in 14 games in he needs to start making keepers work.
After 14 games I’m not convinced Moore is the right man for Cook.

Twice today he had the chance to simply lay it off to Lowe coming in on his right but both times he chose not to, once shooting, another passed backwards.

Would you have taken a point before hand ?, Yes but on the other hand we could have easily been 5 points better off and in 12th. Each game pans out different, Derby was for the taking, today was tighten up and let’s hang on and try to counter attack.
I say, Moore at centre half and Dunkley up front without him we’d be rock bottom.
But all in all there’s definitely signs of improvement we just need to start taking golden chances and get Moore scoring. 14 games without a goal is simply not good enough.

Superb today for the most part, but the goals were schoolboy standard again

Big Roy ,you must be the world’s safest gambler. Jackson vote of confidence!!! Must be true then. Played great 4 pts….should have been 9 or at least 7. Let’s just hope our home form maintains…..if it doesn’t then we’ll see if Jackson speaks with fork tongue. Hows about 10k bet or 100k….silly Billy!!!

Moore’s hold and link up play was superb today and he was the catalyst for most of the attacks.
His touch is very good and he brings others into play with his clever link up work and I can see why he is an ever present.
On the positive it’s 4 points from 3 games I expected zilch from and it could have been much better but as I said before we sort of expect late equalisers and late winners away.

You know as much as I do Cook is going nowhere. So why waste your energies talking about how much you want him gone.

Why?…Cos we have a squad that I.m.o.has potential to be better than our league position shows.I believe he doesn’t utilise it, particularly Moore. Why sign him then not play to his strengths?..How can Massey be a better choice than Pilkington?..Substitutions are numbingly predictable and the Geldhardt issue is baffling. All in all I have an opinion if that’s ok with you. He is in no better a position than last season with near on 10 million invested, struggle to score in open play have an astonishingly dire away record and again teetering again around relegation zone. Then again if Jackson says he’ll still be here no matter then hey that’s ok then you and super can stock up on the lube and enjoy plenty more Cook cucumbering !!!

Exactly the mentality that beggars belief, you expected zilch. So you go a game expecting us todraw or lose ?, holy fcuk pal that’s a sad way to watch football expecting fcuk all from most games.
Moore at the end of the day is our main forward, his job is to score goals or are you telling his job is to link play with xyz and they’ll get us the goals.

Unless you’ve noticed Dunkley is our top scorer ahead of Moore, Lowe, Massey, Gelhardt, Garner. If any of the above are scoring then Moore’s doing a job linking play but their not.

On 2 occasions Moore had the simple task to lay it off to Lowe coming in on the right unmarked, both times he chose not to.
Yes he works hard, yes he links play, but, he doesnt work keepers. Were 14 games in you would have thought he’d have a few by now.
But regarding zilch comment, you’ve mentally set the bar so low that you’d be content with a low scoring loss. I bet you duffed your keks against Bristol City getting a draw, scary.

This season I’ve seen most of the teams in the Championship play either at home, away or on TV. Teams up in the top 6-8 and tbh I would say non are world beaters and on our day we could beat any of them.
For me the problem lies with the manager not been able to get the best out of the team as a whole and make those suttle changes to turn loss’s into draws and draws I to wins.

How long do we keep saying were close but it never quite happens. Cook seems to be reluctant to leave out players. I thought Pilkington was the difference before he got injured, so why not 10-15 when needed ?.

Of course opinions is what a forums about but your opinion is often ill founded and blinkered. Its now baffling why we don’t play a 17 year old who has never played men’s football and has scored one senior goal. U18s football isnt the same as men’s football and academies are full of kids who score for fun yet struggle in the adult game. Cook watches him train week in week out against men and will know when he’s ready. Lads like Bobby Duncan at Liverpool have been more prolific than Gelhardt and are older yet still have had to leave to play more u19s football in Italy. Moore is apparently brilliant in your eyes yet hasn’t scored in 14. He hasn’t had chances I hear you say but he has. He had em at Sheffield Wednesday, at Derby in midweek and last week against Forest he was clean through by ten yards in the closing minutes only to get caught straight away by their defenders. Your last comment appears to be a man struggling with sexual repression. Not sure where engaging in a sexual act with a cucumber fits in with a football forum but am sure a good psychoanalyst could help.

Like your reply, gave me a chuckle. !!!!Still Moore is our main forward, Cook desperately wanted him. We never get to byline and give him something to get on end of just 65 yarders up to him 30 yds out. As cup winners stated it’s the subtle changes at the right time that give you the small margin edge. Unfortunately that’s where he falls down……..as he also states a lot of posters keep saying were close but never quite get there. Permanently stuck on the vinegar stroke……..there I go again.!!!!

The blame must land fairly and squarely with Sky. Bristol City equalized when the match choice was down and playing F1 commentary instead of streaming the game, so I couldn’t watch the rest of the match. If Sky hadn’t gone down, im sure we would have won … right ?

Considering they almost nicked it at the death i would say that was a good point especially after going behind against a very good team.
More positives if you ask me and a growing belief within the team that was lacking last year.

Holy fookin shermoly !! Another drawing comparisons with our young players and a top side in Europe !!.
The reason Duncan won’t get in the Liverpool side they honestly don’t need to. They can simply open the checkbook and spend £60-£100 million on a Brazilian who’ll also sell 5 million shirts in Asia and South America, we cant.

You would have to catagorically say that, Gelhardt has a far greater chance of playing in a Wigan side than Duncan had at getting in a Liverpool side, chalk ‘n’ cheese m8 you cant even come close to drawing a comparison.
People are not screaming from the roof tops for Gelhardt to start, were on about 10-15 here and there let him run at tired legs.
If that’s classed at “Throwing him in at the deep end” the he will never play Wigan. Cook prefers Garner to Gelhardt who in my eyes is well past his sell buy date. He offers nothing bar a yellow card.
I watched 2 games of football were we played very well. I cant say we were unlucky because we missed some sitters that’s not bad luck. We could be sat here easily with 4 if not 6 points. Both games we deserved more but how many times can we keep saying that ? And how long can we rely on our home form. When all said and done, weve picked up 2pts from a possible 24 away and not played too bad. Something just ain’t right and I’m sorry it seems to me most dont blame the players so who then ??.

Moore needs to start hitting the back of the net, how he’ll do it under Cook is a mystery.
One more thing, Cook needs to tell Moore stop chasing totally lost causes. I’m not on about closing players I’m on about chasing stupid 40m back to the keeper passes, the bombing it back at 900 mile an hour, absolute pointless.

He’s too big of a unit to be bombing it around like a looney for 90 minutes. He needs to conserve energy for the latter end of games. The last few games he’s been totally out on his feet with 15 to go.

Would say it’s nigh on impossible at any level for a Manager to fit a 16-17 year old in his side. Maybe the odd 10 minutes but if your suggesting more your naive as to the realities of professional football at the top level. It’s about building him up slowly and I believe he is being handled well. This is the first season he’s even trained with the first team regularly and as I said earlier the coaching staff see far more than any of us.

I agree, but if he’s so concerned then dont name him on the bench, he’s a wasted sub.
It’s not beyond the realms of football that some young lads can play and hold their own in 1st teams at a very young age.

Some develop earlier both physically and mentally than others take Ryan Sessegnon or even Reece James. I heard a few people comment that Gelhardt a few years ago was light years ahead when playing at a school boy level. Physically he looks strong as an bull and by all reports both feet are firmly planted on the ground.

I feel giving him the odd 15 minutes cant be harmful and for Cook to come out with that remark : “Its better if we bring him into a winning side” is about the biggest load of cow crap I’ve heard.
If we were winning we wouldn’t be having the Gelhardt debate. If we were playing poorly and getting tonked (which were not) I might agree been harmful. Were losing and drawing very tight games and suttle changes are the difference.
Cooks face after Derby scored spoke volumes. He instantly knew it was for the taking against a poor Derby and he subbed for a point not for 3.
Would have Gelhardt on for the last 10 on at Derby like Hull made the difference ?, there would have been one way to find out but Cook chose to bottle it and decided to keep the Gelhardt cotton wool nice and tight for a 5-0 up day

From watching us were close, close to catching some of these big money spenders cold in their tracks. But, I personally feel the manager is at a level that’s a step too much.

Footballs all about levels theres nothing wrong with that, its just admitting it to yourself I can’t make it happen. Some of Cooks recent comments proves he’s baffled as to why.
If Cook doesn’t know how to put it right then what chance have we ?
