9 February 2011 at 1:41 am #58887Saying we’re not worthy to be in the Prem, we have no fans so are therfore going to get relegated, amongst other stuff during a news bulletin….
Did it include the Diame comment? That one was a direct pop at the town rather than just the team.
9 February 2011 at 3:54 am #58896No wonder he wrote it on Twitter. I can’t tell a word he says. Sounds like he’s got a mouth full of summat. Don’t know how he got the job as he must have the worst speaking voice of anyone on the radio.
9 February 2011 at 12:37 pm #58902Saying we’re not worthy to be in the Prem, we have no fans so are therfore going to get relegated, amongst other stuff during a news bulletin….But Jay, don’t you think it’s all water off a ducks back now? We’ve had it for six seasons. We had it before we even kicked a ball.
Jewell’s ‘ignore these no-marks’ attitude was the best idea.
All it does is brings more attention to them and what they are saying.
I’ve had a few people come out with the ‘you’ve no fans’ comments when I’ve been around the country. To which I’ve said “are points in the table earned by the amount of fans you have? No”. Some people just don’t get it.
One of the reasons I won’t be gutted when we go down, is that it will get us away from these tiresome comments about crowds. It’ll be Blackpool’s turn for some stick, next season. (If they stay up) Cardiff will be the new ‘darlings’, as we were for a season. Then Reading, then Hull, then Stoke,….etc.9 February 2011 at 9:14 pm #58963Maybe change the Rodney Marsh song to are you watching Abrahams :D
9 February 2011 at 11:32 pm #58987Moose lives in the Borehamwood vacinity i think and trust me Wigan is the French Riviera compared to that cesspit.
10 February 2011 at 1:24 pm #59023Is he the big fat eunoch with a shrill voice they call ‘Moose’? The fat tool. I agree many parts of Wigan are a dump like many towns and cities are but how can anyone hail east London?. The only infrastructure improvements in that crime ridden toilet were due to the Luftwaffe 1940-41.
11 February 2011 at 2:18 pm #59122I agree with VAT, the club should have just let his comments wash over them like water off a duck’s back
By responding in the way they have its just made them look petty & drawn even more attention to the very issue most opposition supporters hit us with anyway

So in summerising the club can’t do right for wrong
12 February 2011 at 2:44 am #59181There’s a big difference between rival fans slagging us off in the street/pub (as someone mentioned earlier in the thread) and some no-mark half-arsed presenter on a crappy radio show abusing his position on a national radio station.
I think it’s right that the club took this action and the fact that said radio station felt they needed to apologise justifies that action, in my view.
12 February 2011 at 3:09 pm #59209same old same old innit? i think the more contraversial issue about talksport is that they have got rid of mike `mr talksport` parry for the richard keys and andy gray show!!! baffling decision for me and reckon it could cost them a lot of listeners.parry was mad but always a good listen and has said good things about wigan in the past including a few weeks ago sayin he would pick wigan over madrid anyday!!
