25 January 2015 at 6:47 pm #138664I think I may be going down to New Springfield a lot more this season. There is certainly much more to look forward to this coming season. Like wins for one thing and hopefully something more than a relegation struggle.
The football should also be an improvement, surely without the tippy tappy in defence rubbish and the one up front garbage. Lets hope Owen gets all that drivel changed. So, Donny, did things get any better under Coyle?
And can you remember when we had our last home win?
25 January 2015 at 7:50 pm #138665No not really. The slide continuous but hey ho a trip to Highbury next season will be interesting.
Last won at home in the summer of 2014. Next home game a banker home win. Just watch.25 January 2015 at 7:57 pm #138666Don’t bank on it – Fleetwood are currently in a playoff place.
A trip to Barnsley is more likely!
25 January 2015 at 8:38 pm #138667So it will be were going to Barnsley again.
Don’t worry we will get out of this mess. Last day of season.26 January 2015 at 4:25 pm #138702Next home game – Bournemouth
Well, they’ve just lost two games in a row, and are at home to Watford on Wednesday too.Last game of the season – away to Brentford
Brentford’s home record so far – Won 8 Drawn 3 Lost 2.Is there a worse team than Wigan in the league? Yes – I don’t think Wigan will finish bottom.
29 January 2015 at 1:11 pm #138872Well whichever way you look at this thread, Coyle ended up having better managerial statistics pro rata than Martinez and so case closed !
29 January 2015 at 1:44 pm #138873I’ve still got a room booked at the Premier Inn in Richmond for that last game v Brentford.
Thought it would be a promotion party. Never been as wrong about anything in my life.
I suppose looking back we all thought the same, which makes where we are now so desperately disappointing.

Martinez – the manager with no Plan B – resigned to go to a bigger and better job at Everton.
Coyle – the manager with no plan – was sacked. Last month he was appointed head coach of Houston Dynamo.

Poor old Owen having to live and work in Houston, I bet he rally yearns for freezing cold piss wet days on the training ground at Standish LG.

Can he get Irn Bru out there though and what is the standard of ping pong table like?
29 January 2015 at 8:40 pm #138919It’s not all sunshine; Houston has 50 inches of rain per year. There are supercell thunderstorms which bring tornadoes to the area, most commonly during spring, and tropical cyclones during the Atlantic hurricane season, which bring heavy rain and significant damage to the city.
And be careful, Owen. The sixth-most dangerous neighbourhood in America is Sunnyside, located off Texas 288 south of downtown Houston. The violent crime rate (per 1,000) is reported as 91.27, and residents have a 1 in 11 chance of becoming a victim of crime in one year.
At No. 15 in the U.S. is a Houston neighbourhood that includes stately mansions, the University of Houston and Texas Southern University. The violent crime rate (per 1,000) is reported as 75.89, and residents have a 1 in 13 chance of becoming a victim of crime in one year.
In contrast, peaceful Wigan has just 9 violent and sexual offences per 1,000 per annum.

Apparently he has swapped the Irn brew for American Cream soda and installed a basketball ring in the end of the players canteen.

aye them that get reported or the bobbies actually attend too
29 January 2015 at 9:39 pm #138928“I believe in passing and moving the ball. We’re widening the pitch by a few yards because we want to pass and move the ball,” Coyle said.
Striker Will Bruin said, “He’s telling each player, ‘Go be yourself, express yourself on the field’. He’s not worried about guys making mistakes. He says, ‘Go show me what you can do as opposed to what you can’t do; don’t be afraid to mess something up.”
A great philosophy. What could possibly go wrong?
