Loudmouth, thanks for the tips, and thanks for the offers of borrowing stuff, however, I won’t borrow your stuff, especially after the comment about ‘thousands’ of pounds worth of gear. If I borrowed it, it would end up as ‘a few’ pounds worth of gear. I’m fecking clueless about fishing, and will probably go to a tackle shop and get them to sort it out – so at least if I destroy it, I won’t feel guilty.

Au contraire….. I believe Mr Walker gave us an immediate ‘visual’ of your place in society. You have already demoted the ‘player’ to a mere smith; it is left to us ‘mere’ mortals to offer our opinions…..however well off we/they appear to be. it has indeed been a long time, thank you for asking (i’ve missed it….a little, I suppose). My ‘work’ takes me away from time to time but I always ‘look in’ on what is being said – good to see sanity (at times) still prevails).

Ahem…’I was in manc on sunday with my posh mates n they love him’BacK to the original topic…
He scored at a ratio of 1 in 4 in the championship so that would be my worry about him. However, he was evidently in a struggling team at the time so maybe not too bad a performance. Players like Bent, were in successfull sides when they had their good championship seasons.
From what I have seen of him he works really hard, has good pace and when given the chance can finish. I would say he has a similar profile to Beckford who has had a good first season in the prem. We have to take a ‘chance’ on players like this as proven prem strikers are out of our price bracket. O and the last player we signed from Peterborough wasn’t too bad was he?i agree with all that, but my only doubt as far as this rumour is concerned, is smith doesnt fit a latics profile – our policy since martinez took over seems to be based on buying younger players and for that reason i dont think this one has any basis.
