Is there a chance of the Utd match being a sell out. What would a sell out be? 25k plus or will stands be restricted for some unbelievably stupid reasons. Could we be the only modern stadium that has restrictions on capacity imposed?
I would suggest the powers that be who were so desperate to give up our home stand do something about this and quick because there will be another stink kicked up if non season ticket holders cannot get tickets because of restrictions. I thought we had seen the last of this shit when we left Springfield Park.13 December 2023 at 5:55 am #20156013 December 2023 at 6:00 am #201562As I pointed out and got told it was bullsh!t Utd fans have snapped up a fair few tables. Let’s face it just over 6000 tickets there’ll be a serious scramble so paying £100-£120 is fcuk all.
Even Man Utd the club itself are concerned but it doesn’t seem like we give a flyer as long as the coin it in.
13 December 2023 at 4:44 pm #201564Also, anyone else noticed West stand 8 only went on sale this morning. The moment it went up I’d say 3/4 of the seats were taken, they never went up for sale Monday or Tuesday.
It might be worth ringing the ticket office asking why. Well if rumour has it they were held back for corporate. The stadium have refused to say whether Utd fans have bought tickets in there via corporate.
I hope the club have security there between WS9 and WS7 that’s if it’s true but Latics have refused to say so.
Now if it isn’t true they simply just say no like Zamo
13 December 2023 at 7:28 pm #201565If anyone has any concerns regarding safety and segregation and are seated in the West Stand especially WS9 and WS7 or even if you managed to get a ticket in WS8 wednesday morning here are the contact details.
l.calderbank@wiganathletic.com
Hospitality Sales Executive
Or
hospitality@wiganathletic.comThe question would be
Are Man Utd seated in the West Stand?
Were ?
How many?
I’m no doubt families women and children will be seated there14 December 2023 at 7:25 am #201571The club’s response ( a friend forwarded it in to me):-
I fully understand your concern and would just like to put you at ease. WS8 is a block in which a section of those tickets had been held back for a number of internal sales, including hospitality and various partnerships. No tickets in this section have been sold to away supporters of Man United. We are offering an away hospitality area for sale for this fixture however tickets for this will be allocated within the East Stand and the away section.
We are working hard to identify and stop any away supporters from purchasing tickets within the home sections of the stadium and any away supporter found in the stadium on the evening will be dealt with and ejected from the stadium.
I hope you look forward to the match and what will hopefully be a fantastic occasion for the club.
14 December 2023 at 7:29 am #201572Well all’s I can say we’ll see on the night. I’ve seen plenty of big games in years gone by were away fans have turned up at the turnstile wearing away colours and still let in the West Stand. One year there was at least 200 Everton
If I were a steward that night I’d be hoping for a flu bug.
Even if you agree with the club maximising the ticket sales and ejecting all the season ticket holders and fans alike from the East Stand but I think it’s one step too far to be then told “Hang on you can’t sit there either it’s hospitality”That for me is a p*ss take

Not showing through the normal route so if anyone wants one there still available
28 December 2023 at 1:37 am #201683Looks like it’s a 21,000 sell out. Leaving over 4000 empty seats. Bloody jokers who run us give Utd 1000 Extra seats than they would get in the North Stand to give us an extra 10k or so after we’ve tipped up to Utd and the FA yet leave masses of empty seats.
WTF is going on FFS!28 December 2023 at 7:57 am #201685Owner has simply underestimated it sh*t scared there’d be 1000’s of empty seats in the home end, looks like they got it wrong.
Let’s hope there’s no trouble with Utd corporate section in the West Stand. The club reckon there’s none, we’ll see on the night hey28 December 2023 at 9:44 am #201686Bring back Johnathan Jackson !
He understands what is good for the Tics !28 December 2023 at 10:03 am #201687What a F######## balloon head he was to make this confrontational decision. It’s now been proven to be a f####### total unnecessary balls up. I’ve said I won’t go and nothings changed. Agree about Jackson…..made errors ,but only human and has the club and supporters 1st priorities……..this div in charge totally detached.
3 January 2024 at 8:07 am #201773It seems Utd aren’t happy with the way we’ve sold Utd fans tickets in the West Stand without going through Utd’s ticket allocation system.
We were selling hospitality tickets (pre-book) basically to anyone before the were officially on sale and they will be sat in WS8 not at the top middle section.
Now I’m not sure what nobhead at Wigan came up with this idea but they clearly know sweet f””k all about segregation at a football match.Let’s hope nothing bad happens because the club will have alot to answer for. WS8 is a fair walk along the concourse unlike sitting at the top in front of the glass and I can only see it going pear shaped
3 January 2024 at 11:05 am #201774I’ve no doubt it will…….
5 January 2024 at 3:01 pm #201781Just heard a rumour that, Utd have been given and sold an extra 350 tickets via their balloting system.
Those who purchased were emailed today and given the option to purchase one or not.
Nothing wrong with that I hear you say?
Well there might be, the rumour is that the tickets are for the South Stand. I’m not sure if this is 100% true, someone might be able to confirm this via Man Utd social media outlets
