Can some Latics statistician list the number of Centre Forwards! we have had, since being in the Premier League, and their goal tally? Oh! for a, Graham Jones, Les Brad or Peter Houghton ;)
Hasn’t Camara got the most goals in a season for us? Was it the first season?
I believe Roberts was our best overall centre forward at this level, for all he gave us and how tough he was to defend against. Since he went, we’ve had Heskey-not good enough, Aghahowa-not good enough, Moreno-useless, Mido-useless, Zaki-Started off great but a rubbish attitude, Di Santo-not good enough, Boselli-not good enough.
If you’d told me a few years ago we would have an Argentinian international centre-forward, I would’ve laughed at you. But the thing is, when we DID get one (Di Santo), he is probably the worst Argentinian international striker ever!
Had he led the invasion of the Falklands in 1982, he would’ve ended up miles off target and hit the Isle Of Man instead![/quote]
You forgot:-
Marcus Bent, scored a hat trick in one game didn’t he???? Just goes to prove just because you score a hat trick doesn’t make you a GOOD player15 December 2012 at 10:30 pm #98042yes we spent 6m on boselli SO WHY NOT BLOODY PLAY HIM THEN martinez must have thought somthing about him to give him a second chance and still chooses to have him sat on the bench with ten minutes here and there at the end of gamesHe started today
15 December 2012 at 10:58 pm #980433 points next week V Arsenal :woohoo: when Gomez and Boselli are getting starts we always will struggle history says so apart from the odd game. When the first teamers are available we will pull some points together. :(
15 December 2012 at 11:31 pm #98044Here we go again, same old shit from the same old people.
Here’s just one example, can’t be arsed reading the rest.
Its sad that sixty or so million from sky just about pays the wages
I think you will find that last seasons wage bill was about 28m.which Martinez had to reduce from 43m when he took over, easy eh?
Maggots.
15 December 2012 at 11:44 pm #98045Chill out. Things will be ok, we will still have a club to watch, still have the craic, still have a pint and still be able to put a football coupon on on a Saturday, and hope that our day pans out ok. I return to the uk after living abroad for 6 years next summer. And will get to go and watch my hometown team whatever league they are in. Maybe the prem, maybe the championship. Whichever league it is you will still scream ‘get in’ when we score a goal.
What will be will be, bob or not bob it doesn’t matter. People are trying, it just isn’t going well. Would you have been happy losing at spurs, and beating Norwich for the same net result? It ain’t over yet by a long way. If you keep telling someone they are Sh1te eventually they start to believe it, performances drop off because they expect to be sh1tr, and motivation spirals downward. Performance = motivation x opportunity x reward. As can be seen by this, it’s not a fantastic opportunity for a player to play for Wigan fighting relegation each year, and the reward we offer is nowhere near what others can offer. So we need to increase motivation to get the performance we want, it’s a straight multiplier, and is the only thing the fans can affect from the above. This works in any walk of life. So lets discuss bob and his time here in the negative sense once he has moved on be it now, next season, 5 seasons.
16 December 2012 at 12:19 am #98046I dont know how you can call bosseli, when the lad has never been given a real chance, playing in the reserves week in week out is a totally different game. When he 1st came he looked the part in preseason then started the opening of the season and then was dropped doing his confidence no good,he needs a good run in the starting eleven, linked up well today with kone and was unlucky to be caught offside and was unlucky not to score against QPR fetching a great save out off green or is it just me
16 December 2012 at 1:53 am #98052Appleybridge ?
Mark it’s never my fault the ref gave us nothing Hughes ???
Do me a favour
He got a team in the bottom three by wasting millions and your questioning bobs dogy deals
16 December 2012 at 2:02 am #98055And so it starts again…
Bit later than last season, but still guaranteed after a couple of bad results.
Where’s LMB and the the bloke with the jumping up and down Phil Collins avatar?
16 December 2012 at 2:19 am #980575 weeks ago we played Spurs and Bobby was a genius to some. Now he wants sacking. I wouldn’t waste your energy. It’s never gonna happen. At different stages of the season we will have good and bad runs. We have had a bit of bad luck and a couple of bad performances. Nothing to worry about. 3 centre halves out means most teams would struggle. You look at next 4 games and think we will get nowt but history tells us it never pans out that way with us. Keep the faith!
16 December 2012 at 2:43 am #98060Correct come march we will be OK.we need a fully fit squad to compete we will be reet.

16 December 2012 at 3:34 am #98067Christ, can you imagine what the Liverpool forum looks like if ours is like this?
16 December 2012 at 3:42 am #98069Correct…give David Gray a shout..
16 December 2012 at 3:51 am #98071but looking very bad now, think the players are lacking confidence and some real awfull passing
relegation a certainty with this woefull squadno wind up just honest assumption of a poor squad we have
Nothing is a certainty as our last 2 seasons have shown. However, anyone who thought that this season would be anything more than maybe a boring oscillation between mid table and the edge of relegation was kidding themselves.
And even though things look woeful at the mo, I still think that’s what this season will be as soon as we get a more solid back line and some leadership back on the pitch.16 December 2012 at 12:05 pm #98097but looking very bad now, think the players are lacking confidence and some real awfull passing

We are in the relegation and the pack starting to move away. We could be clear inthe bottom 3 by new years day.
The time it will take us to get a settle back three with decent defenders, we will be down..
