Looks like they are going into administration. Feel for their fans but just to be as callous as other clubs were with us ,do you think we could take Nathan Byrne back ?
The thing is with Derby that is different to us, they have actually cheated. Somehow, I can’t see them getting a points deduction as if the price is right the efl will find a way to avoid sanctions.
There is literally no way to avoid the 12 points for administration unless they win an appeal and the line used to uphold ours is the same for all situations.
Because of this though, I feel they will get away with any further sanction (similar to Bolton) and rather than get 20+ they’ll just get 12 and all will be forgotten.

Thoughts with them, horrible situation , chasing the dream of the premier league is very expensive and failure commonplace.
The parachute payments ensure its an even tougher task now .
Good luck to their supporters in the struggle ahead.

This is the big thing, and the lack of FFP between divisions makes it worse. Owners will risk overspending to gain promotion and then the fans suffer when it goes wrong.
The EFL wanted to have a salary cap in Divisions one and two but the real problem is in the Championship. Spending is out of control with clubs chasing the Premiership dream .Then you have clubs like West Brom ,Norwich and Fulham who are happy being yo yo clubs picking up the parachute money. I obviously want us to get promoted but I also worry about how we can stay at that level within a strict budget.
We were seriously on the verge of going out of business as well as losing the points and getting relegated.
I am not sure whether Derby are in the same situation regarding going out of business, I certainly hope not for their fans sake, as it was a horrendous time as we all know.
I do however hope the EFL throw the book at them and don’t go lightly on them. We suffered from no fault of our own, they have repeatedly cheated the system, and as long as they are safe as a club, I would have no pity on them as a club whatsoever, if they got the full punishment their crimes deserve.
They should get a 12 point deduction for going into admin, and a further 12 points at least for the cheating over FFP and their ground sale etc.
Whether the deductions will all be this season or some carried over is up to the EFL I suppose.
I believe they have been close to being taken over a couple of times. Now they will get taken over and their new owner will get them for a fraction of the price with the slate swept clean.
How come the EFL waited until we had secured safety then deducted the points that relegated us yet have said Derby will get 12 points on entering administration. So they could get bought out and have the games to pull the 12 points back. I thought the rule was if you get relegated then the points are deducted the following season. Seems to me that everything is being done to try and keep Derby in the Championship yet the EFL couldnt relegate us quick enough. Derby are 16th and could easily go down anyway so the bloody rules should be stuck to.

You appealed and that was only heard and confirmed at the end of July 2020.
The rules on points deductions rolling over for next season only come into play when a club who have already been relegated go into administration. I remember Leeds pulling that stunt midway through their final game when they were about to be relegated on the pitch. In terms of Derby, they have 40 games left to pick up those 12 points, so applying the punishment now is the correct course of action.

We had six games left to play when the points were deducted !
