Sorry – struggling to understand your point here, other than Wigan had less time to recover from a 12 point deduction than Derby have. However it could be argued that Derby have tried for over a year of playing behind closed doors to stave this off, whilst the money launderers didnt even give it a month to fund the latics before walking away and sending in the chuckle brothers to asset strip.

It just does not seem right ,even now .You seem to be supporting Derby even though they have committed a variety of offences over a number of years and now have virtually a whole season to claw back the points deficit ,the EFL have gone out of their way to protect them.We almost did it as I say with just six games to save ourselves with no help from the EFL.
19 September 2021 at 12:54 pm #194028I’m not supporting Derby, nor any other club that has been in Administration. They are all guilty of living beyond their means, be it over a prolonged time or as a result of a non-interested owner suddenly deciding not to write cheques. There is a rule in place for clubs that spend beyond their means, and whilst its tough on supporters, the folk I really feel sorry for are the non-football creditors who end up having to accept 25% of the money owed to them, whilst the new owners get a football club for a fraction of their worth. The football clubs get to start again next season with a clean slate, whilst some of the creditors end up losing their home.
Imagine if you were the company who supplied Derby with enough food for matchdays – say 10,000 hot dogs & burgers at £1 each for the first 5 home games this season. You were expecting £50,000 to be settled at the end of this month, but guess what – you are in a queue and might get £12500 sometime over the next 12 months if you’re lucky. Meanwhile, Mr Rooney picks up £100,000 in full for his week’s work.
19 September 2021 at 4:31 pm #194032So how do they lower the wage bill ?, they can’t sell the windows just closed and most won’t take a drop.
If they don’t paid at the end of the month they face another 6 points.
Clubs like of Derby and Sheff Weds have been looked after by the EFL for far tooooooo long just a f#ckin joke.
Whatever punishment they get it won’t be enough.I read Rooney say, he’ll do everything possible to keep everything going
All except a drop in his mammoth 100k a week the greedy fat get
19 September 2021 at 6:05 pm #194034If Derby can’t pay the wages is it a breach of contract and players can just walk away fee agent?

If they don’t pay them for 2 consecutive months yes.
20 September 2021 at 5:40 pm #194052What I don’t get is, they knew this situation was here, so why didn’t they offload over the summer? Could have prolonged the administration r even have saved them.
21 September 2021 at 12:42 pm #194055I just wonder if the EFL will actually make an example of them like they did with Bury. At the end of the day they have broken far too many rules over the past 2 years.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
22 September 2021 at 3:49 pm #194083Officially into administration, docked 12 points and bottom of the table.
Reading apparently looking at between 6 and 9 for breaching FFP.
22 September 2021 at 3:51 pm #194084How come the EFL waited until we had secured safety then deducted the points that relegated us yet have said Derby will get 12 points on entering administration. So they could get bought out and have the games to pull the 12 points back. I thought the rule was if you get relegated then the points are deducted the following season.
It’s based on the time of the season you go into administration which as I think mutty pointed out stops clubs going into admin at the end of the season when they know their fate.
The date is something like the middle of March, but ours was obviously different due to covid but they used the date of the original Stoke fixture as reference I believe.
23 September 2021 at 2:53 pm #194100I get all that egg but they didn’t give us the deduction on entering administration they waited until the end of the season to see if we got relegated anyway then the 12 points would have come off the season after had we been relegated without the deduction. This I understood to be the rules. Derby then should have also been deducted the points at the end and not now.
23 September 2021 at 4:31 pm #194101I wonder how much the administrators will be looking for to buy Derby ? They say they have buyers lined up ,where have we heard that before ?They don’t own their stadium I am not sure what other assets they have other than the playing staff and they have massive debts. Thankfully ,the admin stuck to their guns in our case by not selling the stadium ( to you know who )making us a lot more attractive proposition for any prospective buyers.

Because they’re the rules. I literally just explained it.
Upto a certain date the punishment is instant. After that, it depends on where you finish to stop sides already relegated taking -12 and starting the following season on a level playing field. See Bolton and Leeds as reference.
23 September 2021 at 8:33 pm #194104So if Derby dont pay their players from here and they leave for breaching contract rules. Derby then plummet to the bottom and are relegated anyway face no further points deductions whereas we had paid all debts up to date ran the club well and dodgedly went into administration then faced the prospect of 12 points deducted if we stayed up but 1w points deducted the season after if we went down which would have meant this season we would be in league 2. On which planet is this fair.
23 September 2021 at 8:54 pm #194105There are plenty of punishments for not paying players.
We were shafted by our owners nobody else.
Well, except maybe the admins.
