From the South Wales press.
Totally disrespects us as a club after our victory and claims how fortunate we were!
I thought we had left this kind of thing behind in the Premier League? Ha, with attitudes like this, Cardiff won’t get far in this seasons Championship.Theyre in for a rude awakening…that we have already started.

6 August 2019 at 1:10 pm #180131Didn’t see any of that in the article. They refer to us as a small club who will see Cardiff as a scalp. I’d say that’s pretty much bob on. We’re a small club and they are favourites to go up.
6 August 2019 at 1:14 pm #180132I’ve read the article back 5 times now and don’t see the word “fortunate”, nor do I see anything disrespectful. I do see the word “fabulous”….
The reaction of Wigan boss Paul Cook in the tunnel at full-time on Saturday summed it up best. He knew his team had pulled off a fabulous result.
6 August 2019 at 1:31 pm #180133I only see The Bluebirds as a scalp as in they had a line up that were very recently in the top flight. Other than that Cardiff have been at a similar or lower level than us in our league history and in with a size of support in proportion to population and drawing area they haven’t broke any pots in that area either.
Overall a very small scalp, maybe just a slight trim.6 August 2019 at 3:17 pm #180135I’ve read the article back 5 times now and don’t see the word “fortunate”, nor do I see anything disrespectful. We are NOT a small club. Havent been for some time. A ‘small club’ don’t go out and spend 12 mil on new players. Nor do I see Cardiff as a ‘scalp’. Their team, on paper, and as it happens on the pitch,is no better than ours. As it proved. The fact they had Gary Madine up front always had me hopeful beforehand anyway. Oh and I was right about they Ralls being a handy player.
A small club doesnt get a 13k home attendance, at a time when a lot of Wiganers are still off on their jollies. If we are a small club, so are Preston, Blackburn, etc, based on this kind of thinking.
Sick of us being seen as a small club…we arent. We are a thriving club, definitely, and one thats on the way back up. Very worthy of our place in the Championship, and definitely not a small club. I told a Cardiff fan online that they just looked like your standard Championship side…hard working, tight, well drilled. I.E. Middlesborough, Hull, Brentford, Bristol City, and so on and so forth. 90% of teams in this league are the same.
But I think we are in the other 10%, I really do. I think Derby County are as well, as it happens. We are on for it this season.
6 August 2019 at 5:03 pm #180138Oh and I would expect the rugby fans on here to try and say Latics are a small club….ha ha go away!
We were laughing our bollocks off on Saturday, at the state of the Worriers ‘shop’ by way of a trailer on the arena car park. “Gypsy Joe’s Bazaar”
6 August 2019 at 5:10 pm #180139Vat, I’m really sorry to disagree with you. But what in your opinion constitutes as a big club. You raise some points in your post, but we are far from a big club.

You raise some points in your post, but we are far from a big club. We’re not even close to being a big club and as for the 13k home attendance there were probably 9,000 home fans tops.

6 August 2019 at 8:57 pm #180143They should build the shop where their fanbase mostly comes from ie chorley preston or bolton not wigan time people realised wigan is a football town who have our own stadium

When are you moving in there to play your matches?
6 August 2019 at 11:48 pm #180148Probably once they can source 12,000 seats to fit in the arena to meet demand.
Do you know where there are 12,000 spare seats locally that don’t get used?
6 August 2019 at 11:56 pm #180149They can gladly have 12000 of our empty seats to fill in next doors arena. Would be worth that to get shut of their squatting parasitic arses.

2500 were in the away end, so we can’t touch them as most of them will be used on numerous occasions this season as we play some pretty well supported teams in the big boys league.
A lot of the remaining 9000 or so will also be needed at some stage this season and hopefully more so next season.
They could always try further a field, the stadium of shite could spare them nearly 20,000, and they would be the right colour.PS. Do you know where I could get hold of a copy of the Sunderland v Coventry City programme from 9th August 1969.
