Over the past 20 years – around the same level as Wigan, higher than Cardiff.
Over the last century – Way higher than both Wigan & Cardiff.
Over last 6 years – around the same level as Cardiff & Wigan.
Over last 2 years – significantly lower than Cardiff, and a tad lower than Wigan.

That’s all well and good, but I didn’t ask you for a comparison to Wigan and Cardiff, but seeing you have done, I take it you see yourselves as a small club now and over the last 25 years or so maybe an equal size club as Wigan and Cardiff.
There is no doubt in the b&w days Sunderland were a very big club, but to be fair, you have to go back to the first half of the last century to find the last time Sunderland were anything other than a lower league side. Your last prolonged stay in the top flight ended in 1958.
