30 August 2013 at 4:41 pm #120159Ahh well, Belgium’s a bit nearer :S
30 August 2013 at 4:42 pm #120160It would be more exciting to watch if Terry Wogan was adding his erudite comments
30 August 2013 at 4:54 pm #120164Maribor looks like Ince. They have a canal as well, not as nice as t’leedsliverpool.

Rubin(RUS)
Wigan(ENG)
Maribor(SVN)
Zulte Waregem(BEL)Not just one trip to Eastern Europe, but two. That’s rather unkind.
Still, Belgium is pleasant enough and it’s not far to go. But it’s hardly a great adventure.

30 August 2013 at 5:25 pm #120175The Regenboogstadion does not meet UEFA’s requirements for hosting UEFA Cup games, so Zulte Waregem’s home games in the 2006-07 competition were played at the home of K.A.A. Gent.
KAA Gent are known as The Buffalos. I’ve visited their old ground, but they’ve moved to a very smart brand new ground, capacity 20,000 seats.
The Ghelamco Arena, also known as Arteveldestadion, is the recently completed new home of KAA Gent. The Ghelamco Arena officially opened on the 17th of July 2013 with a friendly match between Ghent and VfB Stuttgart (2-0).
Looks good!
30 August 2013 at 5:45 pm #120179They played their qualifier against APOEL at Anderlecht’s stadium in Brussels.
30 August 2013 at 5:50 pm #120180They played the Champions League game against PSV, and the Europa League last round against Apoel at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in Brussels – Anderlecht’s ground.
30 August 2013 at 5:53 pm #120181Perhaps they weren’t sure whether the new Gent stadium would be ready. I think they have to play all their games at the same stadium.
Brussels is a good destination – I’ve been to a European game at Anderlecht too.
Ground Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, Anderlecht, Brussels
