I don’t believe there has ever been an issue with commitment. Ability, skill levels and performance on occasions yes, but never have I felt they haven’t tried.

Agree. I’ve never thought we’ve lost a game this season because we didn’t care/try.

What has cost us dearly this season is the inability to finish & basic defending, oh & as Edwards (I think it was) pointed out using about 500 players – the latter no fault of our own. The past few games, something has clicked. Long may that continue until the end of the season.

Something has definitely clicked lately but I don’t think many performances have been too far off the mark.
The Spanish fiasco really damaged us, and if we go down that’s where I’ll be pointing my finger of blame.

I agree all the chopping and changing hasn’t helped, but sometimes Richardson as made changes for the sake of it.

Take the other night for example, Aasgaard dropped for Lang, every week there have been 2/3 changes, sometimes changing a winning team.

          Fuck the EFL

With so many games in such short periods changes were always going to happen especially with a young squad.

I read somewhere that Aasgard has always struggled to play two matches a week so I guess that’s why he’s in and out of the team.

Another guess is we don’t have the same staff and resources to get players fit and keep them fit. Again the Spanish and/or admins stuffed us up there too.

My third and final guess is that mutty drinks Newcastle brown ale and then argues with the empty bottle about how many stripes should be on a football shirt!

In fairness to Leam it worked & was a good selection choice.

In hindsight yes it turned out well and a well earned 3 points, Aasgaard was tremendous against Doncaster last Saturday and even got on the score sheet, the news at around 4pm on Tuesday said same team as against Donny with Lang on the bench, only for Richardson to change his mind.

Spare a thought for Aasgaaard, he must have been a tad pissed off before kick off.

Maybe something happened before the game that forced us to change? Maybe we saw their side and felt Lang was a better option?

We’ve just beaten 2 good sides, dragged ourselves out the bottom 4 and still some fans are having a moan. Unbelievable.

As far as Leam Richardson is concerned it wasn’t hindsight, it was foresight. He made a change in advance that worked. His job as manager is to make decisions and if anybody gets a tad pissed off then tough. Aasgaard will have a part to play in the run in but Tuesday’s selection has been fully vindicated.

We put a side out that outplayed and deserved to beat Sunderland .We are not privy to all that goes on in the dressing room but I have complete faith in Leam Richardson ,if any tweaks are made to the line up he has done it to maximise the chances of getting a result.Young Aasgaard knows how well he is thought of at Wigan ,he is a star of the future ,he was probably not happy but he will understand why the change was made .

It’s one of those. Any player that isn’t in the 11 you want to be “upset” but at the same time you want them to understand that is what is best for the team that counts. Some players would spit their dummies and sulk. Seeing how players have played when they have come in after being left out, I don’t think we have that issue.

Who’s moaning? I’m just saying that Richardson put Aasgaard in the starting eleven then within an hour dropped him to the bench, why didn’t he wait until he saw Sunderlands line up before he made his final decision?

Obviously Aasgaard was fit to play, if not why was he on the bench? He could have been needed at anytime.
