Max Power and Will Grigg.
2 time L1 champions.
Fail at Sunderland, but yes it’s their fault and not Sunderlands.
17 April 2021 at 10:11 pm #192292There may be bonuses and promotion pay rises for those who are still in contract, but not for those out of contract.
Jury’s out on the manager at the moment. His PPG record is not much better than his predecessor or the one before, but in his defence, he didnt sign these players. The summer will see a huge turnround in players, and the word on the street is that its going to be data driven, like Brentford do. So the days of signing “proven” L1 players like Power, Grigg etc is supposed to be over. Young, fit, quick, hungry are the requirements. If they come with that attitude, they’ll get to train at the best facilities and play in the best stadium in front of the largest crowds. And they’ll probably get paid the highest
I wouldnt back Sunderland to even go up in the playoffs now and have resigned myself to another season in this league. Hopefully I’ll get another trip to the DW – maybe they’ll give us the East Stand again?
Everybody currently playing for Sunderland this season is under contract ,they would all get a promotion bonus ,something has obviously happened behind the scenes. As it stands Sunderland would play Oxford in the play off’s.That would be interesting after their last league match.
18 April 2021 at 1:00 am #192293I wouldnt throw the towel in just yet Mutt lad you could easily win the play offs and from a Latics point of view it would be better if you did. If we stay up and it’s still very much if it will be easier without the Mackams next season with the spending and pulling power of Sunderland if this new owner you have splashes the cash. I’ve never had a problem with Sunderland they are a great club and they piss the barcodes off which is a bonus. They was on a long unbeaten run before the last 3 so no reason they cant go on another.

Billy Gigg is ripping it up at MK Dons isnt he.
You are living in the past scab. Perhaps you need to sign Jason Roberts & Nathan Ellington for your promotion push next season?
18 April 2021 at 9:55 am #1922953 goals and 3 assists since he moved so not too bad. Not his usual standard yet.
Scored goals at every club he has been at………..except one.

Sunderland don’t bother me as a club, but they’re another one of those “we get 30,000 fans so should be in the PL winning trophies” clubs. Little bit like their neighbours really.
18 April 2021 at 10:02 am #192297If they scored one or two for us then your men would buy em for a few million in your attempt to be a big club so it could work out well for us.
Then again, if they were out of contract they wouldn’t be that bothered about getting promoted.

You’re right Ad. Another club who thinks it’s owed summat because they get a few fans. We’d lrobably get 30k on if we were the only club for miles.

Been involved in 25% of their goals since he moved despite not playing every minute.
Idiots like mutty don’t seem to realise that a striker requires service in order to score goals. Sunderland gave him none, and didn’t play to his strengths. Not his fault.
It would be akin to you goons signing Tommy Makinson from the champions, playing him on the left wing, sending all your attack down the right wing and then moaning that he hasn’t scored the same number of tries as he does at the super saints.
18 April 2021 at 10:23 am #192300There are plenty clubs with the same mentality as Cookie is already finding out. Some are worse than others. Getting 30,000 plus has never won any club a game or even a point. Until they change the rules to give points for big crowds let them come the Billy big bollox. We will continue to upset the applecart.
18 April 2021 at 10:26 am #192301Surprised the elite have never tried it nunny. They keep talking about a euro league, but i’m surprised the PL hasn’t become a closed shop for the “big” clubs.
18 April 2021 at 1:25 pm #192302There are ‘big’ clubs (92 of those), bigger clubs (plenty of those too) and the biggest clubs (ask Sky who these are). The problem is there are only 20 places to fill in the Premier League.
