Maybe something happened before the game that forced us to change? Maybe we saw their side and felt Lang was a better option?

We’ve just beaten 2 good sides, dragged ourselves out the bottom 4 and still some fans are having a moan. Unbelievable.

Who’s moaning? I’m just saying that Richardson put Aasgaard in the starting eleven then within an hour dropped him to the bench, why didn’t he wait until he saw Sunderlands line up before he made his final decision?

Obviously Aasgaard was fit to play, if not why was he on the bench? He could have been needed at anytime.

How do you know Aasgaard was pencilled in to start originally?

There is a guy (he must be an insider at the club) posts early team news on various sites, the guy is NEVER wrong, he posts who is back from injury etc sometimes 24 hours before a match, he posted on Tuesday what i stated above 2 hours before kick off.

      Fuck the EFL

I think more often than not Leam has been forced to change things around. He has had horrific injuries and players coming and going. He has certainly had a baptism of fire in his management career.

Stick with “being the better side on the night” as that would be cheating…

33.5 List of Players to be handed to Referee. The Team Sheet shall indicate the full names of Players and shall indicate the colour of the Goalkeeper’s shirt. Neither Club shall publish the teams or otherwise provide details of the teams to any third party (other than League appointed broadcast partners) until 60 (sixty) minutes before the advertised time of kick-off.

I think some guy off social media finding out some ‘insider information’ is not exactly cheating. This is not an official club source ,should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Don’t really understand the point in someone on social media announcing the early team news.Let’s just wait until the club officially announce the team about an hour before kick off.

Funny. That link gives me a 404 error.

Perhaps your team was leaked on the same social media page that bullitt saw our team? Maybe we had two team sheets and handed in the one with Lang playing when we caught a glimpse of the one you handed in? The old switcheroo. Maybe we asked if we could change last minute and your team agreed because we posed “no problem at all”. Who knows?

What we do know is- you lost again. Thanks for the 6 points, they could be crucial in our future :good:

They’ve got no incentive to go up. Of the starting 11 today 9 are out of contract come the end of the season and one is on loan. Only Baily Wright is contracted to next season. It is a highly unusual situation, as a team would usually have at least 70% on a longer deal or at least have an option to exercise.

So, if you were a L1 standard footballer around 30yrs old and you had this choice:

Get promoted and we wont be renewing your contract as you are not quite up to Championship standard

                    or

Dont get promoted and about half of you will get another contract because you are ok at this level as we cant persuade enough Championship level footballers to drop a division.

What would you do? Bust your gut or give 95% effort and come up “just short”. Its human nature to go for the latter as it gives you a better chance of further employment.

It wouldnt surprise me if Max Power was back at the DW next season playing for Wigan as this is his level and I very much doubt he’ll be offered another deal.

Don’t they have win and promotion bonuses at Sunderland ? I actually think the problem at Sunderland is the manager .

                      #192288

There may be bonuses and promotion pay rises for those who are still in contract, but not for those out of contract.

Jury’s out on the manager at the moment. His PPG record is not much better than his predecessor or the one before, but in his defence, he didnt sign these players. The summer will see a huge turnround in players, and the word on the street is that its going to be data driven, like Brentford do. So the days of signing “proven” L1 players like Power, Grigg etc is supposed to be over. Young, fit, quick, hungry are the requirements. If they come with that attitude, they’ll get to train at the best facilities and play in the best stadium in front of the largest crowds. And they’ll probably get paid the highest too.

I wouldnt back Sunderland to even go up in the playoffs now and have resigned myself to another season in this league. Hopefully I’ll get another trip to the DW – maybe they’ll give us the East Stand again?
