Big congratulations today to Ashton Athletic, who beat Mossley of the Northern Prem North (a division above Ashton) 7-2 in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup
3 September 2016 at 9:32 pm #150452Big congratulations today to Ashton Athletic, who beat Mossley of the Northern Prem North (a division above Ashton) 7-2 in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA CupThat’s a great win for them, just 3 more hurdles for a FA Cup 1st round tie. That would be a massive achievement.
Keep us posted with their FA Cup progresss Garswood, it’s always good to see non league local sides’ exploits.4 September 2016 at 1:44 am #150463Big congratulations today to Ashton Athletic, who beat Mossley of the Northern Prem North (a division above Ashton) 7-2 in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA CupGood for them, are some of their players turning out for amateur teams this season to help them win finals like last season? Anything for a trophy with them cheating bastards!
Fuck the EFL
4 September 2016 at 2:49 am #150466Do you have a chip on your shoulder about everything?
4 September 2016 at 3:29 am #150467Funny how small clubs respect the cup but further up the pyramid the cup gets in the way and it’s just an exercise for squad players.
Big up to the smaller clubs who still treat the cup with respect.4 September 2016 at 1:59 pm #150470I don’t think many of us will show the same adoration for another local minnow Bolton Wanderers when they enter in round one.
4 September 2016 at 2:36 pm #150471Minnows or not, for a 3rd division club surrounded by over a dozen other football league clubs within a 25 mile radius, to attract 13,500 for a home game with Southend is pretty impressive.
Even more impressive, when you see that their cheapest adult ST was £300 and £26 for a casual supporter to attend yesterday’s fixture.
Proper loyal fans there.
4 September 2016 at 3:09 pm #150472Or maybe it was because there was no prem games on

4 September 2016 at 3:32 pm #150474Luckiest fans in the world to even have a club. To run up such huge debts with their heads in the cloud and to have all those debts just written off by the bloke the fans blamed for creating the debts. Unbelievable ungrateful idiots. Hope it goes tits up for Holdsworth and the other arrogant gets who got the club stadium academy and land for virtually nowt. Get yourself on Noblots boards Muts amongst their idiots.
4 September 2016 at 3:35 pm #150475Possibly, but there were a whole load of football league fixtures.
Having said that, there were prem games on 20 August when they got 13500 for the visit of Fleetwood. Perhaps their crowd that day and yesterday was swelled by 5000 Wiganers who didn’t go to Nottingham and who had nothing better to do yesterday?
Or maybe, they just have 13,000 loyal supporters?
As I said – proper loyal fans them Bowton lot, like the Pompey lot. They stick with their club when times are tough.

4 September 2016 at 3:58 pm #150477Slightly off topic, Good luck to Big Sam today on his first match as England manager, them clowns at Sunderland didnt deserve his services no wonder he dumped them for a big job.
Even Joe Hart turned em down to further his career at a mediocre Italian club, if any other Prem club would have come in for Joe he would have been there in a jiff.
Fuck the EFL
4 September 2016 at 5:28 pm #150478Slightly off topic, Good luck to Big Sam today on his first match as England managerHear Hear. It will be interesting to see how he deals with not being able to shop at Harrods instead of Tescos (was it Steve Bruce who once said that?) for players to strengthen his squad. In fact, he cant shop at all!
4 September 2016 at 5:45 pm #150479How did this thread digress away from the FA Cup and on to attendances. Surely it couldn’t have been mutty as he isn’t obsessed in that way.
