        Good player, but can’t ever forgive him for threatening to take England players on strike at a major tournament, cos one of his dopey mates forgot/couldn’t be arsed doing a random drugs test.

            As for what he was like away from the game I have no idea (although I did once literally bump into him in St Anne’s Square in Manchester & he had a face on him like a bulldog licking pish off a thistle) but he’d hardly be the first person to tell a workman they were paying them to work not talk – even more so when you consider how quickly owt he’d have said would have been splashed round the internet as soon as the workie got hom

                    I was told by a die hard Utd fan at work that he only retired because he didn’t make the 25 man squad and that Fergie didn’t hesitate to be ruthless and do what’s best for the club in leaving him out, despite his commitment to them over the years.

                    Personally I though he was a very average footballer, but what he lacked in natural talent, he made up for in passion to play and commitment to his club. It got me wondering who was the last one of our lot to kiss the club badge when they scored? I can’t recall it happening with today’s bunch of mercenary types.

                      Not doubting this for a minute but just because he is die hard fan doesn’t make it true.

                      We supposedly have many “die hard” fans on this forum but what they know about the running of their club could be written on the back of a list of Bobby’s tactical variations.

                          Not really, but neither do I make any wild and unsubstantiated claims about the internal workings of any club.

                          Wouldn’t trust half of the people that to run a bath
