Nothing to do with the defenders but poor goalkeeping. Was great last year but all three goals he could have done better for me. 1st flapped behind the scorer. 2nd corner was catchable height in the six yard box and 3rd which i may be being harsh but ball crossed along 6yd box which he could have cut out.
12 August 2018 at 4:05 am #171032Walton is terrible at the moment. Villas first was embarrassing & third he should have done better. He was at fault for Wednesdays first and he was at fault for at least one at Rangers.
Defence is wobbly but sure they will get better the more games they get under their belt.Going forward we look ace and lots to be positive about. But if Walton carries on like this then he needs to be dropped.

But can we drop him? What is the loan arrangement?
12 August 2018 at 12:34 pm #171038The way we are looking to play we could see plenty of scores like this. Cookie himself has said we know that this style will lead to us being punished at the other end.

12 August 2018 at 1:20 pm #171040I think if we address the defensive & goalkeeping errors quickly, & coupled with the way we seem to be playing this season, i believe we will be reet.
12 August 2018 at 1:56 pm #171041I’m not saying he would have made any difference to the result yesterday but were was Gibson ? he wasn’t even on the bench. I thought he was excellent against Sheffield Weds
12 August 2018 at 2:03 pm #171042Gibson out for a month
12 August 2018 at 2:33 pm #171043Gibson out for a monthThat’s a fair owd bender
12 August 2018 at 3:51 pm #171044Gibson out for a monthThat follows the course of his career. He spends such a lot of time injured.
Need to re-call Max from his loan.12 August 2018 at 4:10 pm #171045MacDonald fit yet ?
12 August 2018 at 4:31 pm #171046So I take it Massey is also injured ?, He was outstanding against Weds and Naismith wasn’t on bench.

Need to re-call Max from his loan.[/quote]That ain’t going to happen, and isn’t necessary with the calbre of players we now have.
Power was a good servant for us, but we have moved on and got better players, and to be fair I think League One is about his level.12 August 2018 at 4:50 pm #171048A very good chance he will be in the Championship next season.
Theres McDonald ?? Evans, other than who played yesterday for cover as defensive midfield so just hope theres no more injuries.12 August 2018 at 5:16 pm #171049Gibson won’t be out forever, Naismith and Roberts could always fill in there if necessary, and Nick Powell could play anywhere apart from in goal.
Selling Max Power is not going to be the the reason we have a good, bad or indifferent season.
Sunderland should could come straight back up and if they do, Max may or may not be there, but one thing is for sure, they won’t build their team around him in the Championship. -
