I heard this rumour a couple of weeks ago and I thought it had gone away but it seems like its resurfaced once again today.
I think this time it just might be possible that he’s on his way that’s if the money’s right.
If it does turn out to be true I just hope Cook has his finger in the pie in prep and not up his harse for a potential replacement target with the window due to close.
21 August 2017 at 9:13 pm #161349Rumours have a habit of resurfacing as someone tells someone else who tells someone else, and a couple of weeks later the same rumour comes back to the start.
Personally I don’t see anyone going anywhere.21 August 2017 at 9:24 pm #161350Rumours have a habit of resurfacing as someone tells someone else who tells someone else, and a couple of weeks later the same rumour comes back to the start.
Personally I don’t see anyone going anywhere.I certainly don’t see Will being sold to a rival and like I posted on another thread we have already sold 2 forwards so how stupid would the club have to be sell another one which would leave us short in that dept. I’m sure that Newcastle would have the option to recall Toney if needed so I reckon that the sale of Bogle put paid to any chance of Will being sold.
21 August 2017 at 10:10 pm #161351We have got rid of four strikers in Woolery, Bogle, Mandron and McKay.
I don’t know about Grigg going but I think we should be looking at bringing another striker in to cover for when Newcastle call their man back or as cover for injury.21 August 2017 at 11:37 pm #161352We have got rid of four strikers in Woolery, Bogle, Mandron and McKay.

Cant really count Mandron and McKay Donny they were never gonna be in the running though you are correct lad about it being 4 through the door. I cannot see how Grigg can be allowed to go as well it will be suicide.
22 August 2017 at 12:55 am #161353There a few more factors that come into this,
1, Do we know whether Charlton are serious about a move for Grigg?
2, Would Grigg want to go to Charlton?
3, Would we want to sell him?
4, Will we ask the right amount for him?
5, Can Charlton afford him?
6, Have we got a replacement lined up if all the above are ‘Yes’?22 August 2017 at 1:26 am #161356There a few more factors that come into this,1, Do we know whether Charlton are serious about a move for Grigg?

Personally I’d be gutted if we got rid of Grigg now as we all know what he can do at this level. In this team he could get 30 goals this season in sure.
An excellent player to have to come off the bench.22 August 2017 at 12:18 pm #161359We have got rid of four strikers in Woolery, Bogle, Mandron and McKay.
I don’t know about Grigg going but I think we should be looking at bringing another striker in to cover for when Newcastle call their man back or as cover for injury.McKay and Woolery were never actually at the club so wouldn’t be missed anyway. I seem to remember us getting rid of Le Fondre, Davies and Whildschut in Jan so clearing the attacking decks and leaving us sparse on the ground ain’t nothing new.
We want to spend some of the money off Bogle , Woolery and Mandron and take a chance on an up and coming player like we’ve done in the past and hopefully sell on at a pretty penny22 August 2017 at 2:05 pm #161360You can tell off his body language he’s not happy but now he’s got to fight to get back in the starting 11 which I don’t think he’s up to but selling him to a rival though is a big no no imagine he goes and scores a goal that makes them promoted and us stuck in Div 1 Sharpie would have to step down no chance unless we sign Messi as a replacement.
24 August 2017 at 3:35 am #161441Hope he stays and shows the form from our last stint in this league
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

I don’t know about Grigg going but I think we should be looking at bringing another striker in to cover for when Newcastle call their man back or as cover for injury. At this moment, we don’t have to sign anybody. We signed Bogle and Mandron as up and coming players….didn’t work out.
Bogle has gone and been replaced by the far more mobile, and better player, Toney. So at this moment, we are fine as we are.

Apparentely, they already have an abundance of strikers (charlton’s words not mine) ;)

I’ll have to disagree with you there vat. Should we sell grigg, then toney either gets injured or sent back to newcastle, it will leave us light in the striker department. We will have one striker left, who is almost as old as me.
24 August 2017 at 6:07 pm #161449According to reports, we have rejected a bid from charlton for grigg.
24 August 2017 at 10:58 pm #161450He’s off bags are packed, He’s not been played and with 1 year left can we honestly run the risk he makes a deal in Jan to go on a free in the summer /. Big clubs could afford to but not us.
And lets face it, he’s not gonna get much game time here. Me ? , cash in but make sure you got at least a loan on the radar till the Jan window opens -
