You really are turning into a grade A ‘cock’ standish

Still it’s good to see that we haven’t resorted to name calling and insults, eh?
If you consider that to be an insult then clearly you don;t have as thick skin as I imagined“.

rather apt in this case as well – standish and myself have moved up to the higher level of insult that you and I share.

The very fact that some of our “fans” have felt the need to trawl through other teams message boards to look for more negatives about Bobby and our club just takes the biscuit.

Just because LMB is too embarrassed to pen his own relegation song this year, he has resorted to letting one of our bitterest rival clubs do it for him.
Then he tries to convince us that he was looking at it from a balanced view.
Just ask yourself LMB if every post on that thread and not just 50% of them, had said something positive about Bobby would you have wet your pants and posted the link?

Shakes my head in total disbelief.

When the person who has back to back desks with you spends all his day on that site, instead of doing a little work now and then, points out a thread about the team I support I tend to take a look, if you did something that seems to be alien to your make up and read it, I think you may find more complimentary remarks about WAFC than derogatory ones, in fact I can only see 2 that says anything against martinez but once again from you , why let facts get in the way of the bittereness that eminates from your direction.

Yes Loudmouth, that was my comment to you. The insult in question was:

‘Jesus H Christ man, are you actually going senile?

And your answer was: : ‘…please dont let your insult on myself cause you any grief, it has became the main tool used against anyone who dares to suggest martinez is less than perfect…’

Hardly Premier League insulting is it?

If you’re going to call me a ‘class A cock’, I’ll respond by calling you a repetitive prick. There, has that brought everything back a more acceptable level?

I thought of putting a winkey smiley thing after my opening line on my last post, but I rarely use them because I think they’re over used and for the most part, infantile. I also thought you might see the comment for what it is – a half-hearted dig, and possibly come back with a witty retort – but, no, for the second time this week you’ve demonstrated that your skin has absolutely no thickness to it.

You asked what has changed with me? My tolerance to some of the absolute tedium that has infested this board over recent months, that’s what.

I realise that there are a lot of Martinez detractors who frequent this board – and that has been the case for the past two seasons – which has livened the forum up, however, a majority of the board since August has been the same repetitive statements over and over again.

I am pro-Martinez – I’ve explained why, and my reasons have been challenged and ridiculed. That’s why I’ve stopped trying to defend him, although I’ll not change my opinion no matter how many times I’ll read the words ‘clueless’ or ‘clown’.

I’ll watch what I say in future as clearly what I see as innocuous comments are rubbing some people up the wrong way.

What reaction do you expect, being that 99.9% of stuff you blurb on here is anti Martinez.
I think you and a few other staunch members of the DS have been stereotyped whether you like it or not.

I also noticed that you eventually highlighted one of the “derogatory” posts in red and backed it up by saying that about sums it up.

Hey but once again from you , why let facts get in the way of the bittereness that eminates from your direction

Problem is we’ve gone for the likes of Huth in the past and either they won’t come or we can’t afford the fee and/or their wages.

And there’s the rub. We can’t even attract Robert Huth. Speaks volumes
Huth is a proper stopper and is the model of what we need, perhaps the £5 million that stoke paid for him would have been out of our reach, but the £1 million that stoke paid for shawcross wouldn’t have been, whatever your view of martinez is everybody must see that setting a defence up is his weakest attribute.
Spectacularly missing the point again. Whether we believe Huth and Shawcross to be good, bad or indifferent players, the fact is that Wigan Athletic struggle to attract that calibre of player.

For the record, I think they would both be good additions to our team.
LMB – how can £5m be out of our reach when we’ve just paid c£4m for yet another winger?

Griff – we used to be able to attract that calibre of player (Arry, Henchoz, Scharner, Bramble, hell even Mario) so why not now if we can afford the aforementioned winger?

First rule of survivial in any league, but especially in the Prem is DON’T CONCEDE. You draw all your games 0-0 and you’ll stay up. For me that means the priority should be attracting and investing in a solid back line (backed up by a proper, experienced defensive coach).

De Zeeuw was signed for £90k – when nobody else was interested. Henchoz, Bramble and Melchiot were all free transfers – and no other Premier League club (that I’m aware of) had offered them contracts.

Scharner chose Wigan instead of Birmingham, but when he signed, he wasn’t exactly hot property.

We’ve always struggled to attract top players.

Almost 7 years ago, Wigan were facing Man Utd in their first major final – on the same weekend Stoke were hosting Millwall in front of 11,340. Yet now they have overtaken Wigan with their brand of anti-football and are way out of sight. Is it a case of a meteoric progression by Stoke, or have Wigan really gone backwards so far that even teams like Stoke are now too far away to aspire to?

Because, in those days, in relative terms, we used to pay closer to or even above, the going rate for player wages which is all that really matters when it comes to attracting players. We paid Bramble £40k per week and Scharner £35k.

We won’t pay anything like that these days. Why do you think that Championship players like Mariappa and Maynard choose not to come? Mainly because they can earn more elsewhere. Simple really, can’t see why people struggle to get it.

Griff Captain Caldwell is getting £25,000 and Bosselli was supposed to be on £35,000 so I’m afraid your arguement falls down. The reason we can’t get players in is that Bob is taking us down and why would a Championship player come up to the Premiership for 3 months???

Probably because 3 months in the prem is better than years in the championship. Nicky Maynard for example may get the chance with Wet Spam, but then again they might blow it and fall at the last fence. He may then be wishing he’d sampled the prem even if it was for just 16-17 games.
But then again he might be one of those players who are happy to just pick up the big pay packet every week and slog it out with the likes of Barnsley, Peterboro’ and Doncaster.

When he left Celtic eyebrows were raised and it was reported in Scotland he came because that was what we had offered him and why he signed.

#80553

Ah, if it was reported in Scotland it must be right then. For a minute I thought he might be a friend of a friend who you know through someone else.

Definately correct then.
Thanks for letting us all know.
