Regardless of whether you think im negative or not, the man is a complete and utter clown. Useless. Cant score, and gives the stupidest penalty we have evr conceded away.

And i dont care how nice some of you think his hair is.

The question for me is what is our striker doing in our area? He should be up the field, out of harm’s way, dragging a couple of their players with him.

We consistently defend far too deep, and packing the area means the ball ricochetes around dangerously.

At the end of the day Hugo does not deserve his place in the team, both on recent form and form throughout the season. We got the goal but then every goal kick we had was won by an Everton defender which put them straight on the front foot. I don’t think Martinez does himself any favours playing Hugo on his own up there, it doesn’t work, never has doen and never will but if ever there was a case for NOT having all 11 players in the box, that was it today.

As for what’s left of the season, Blackpool have two horrific games to come and I can only hope they take a tonking which could see us move above them on GD anyway. I’d back us to get at least 2 points from the last two games but don’t see us getting much next week, today was the big chance and we threw it away AGAIN through our own stupidity.

lets bash hugo on here tonight -granted the hand ball was very strange but dont knock him for not winning hoof balls against 2 of the better center halves in the league in distan and jagielka -not one mention of how poor mccarthy and cleverly were today or the p i s s poor pass out of defence or stupid tackle by cleverly that resulted in yet another dangerous free kick that led to the corner and penalty,oh and the miss at the end came on his left foot as well.

I’ll mention them now i’ve got the green light then!

McCarthy – poor at the moment I think, lots of running and energy but doesn’t get on the ball enough and isn’t positive enough when he does. When he is positive you get the chance for the goal and it was good to see him taking up those positions. I get the feeling he is playing within himself though and following orders to carry on with the dot-to-dot football that we play.

Cleverley – never a winger in a million years. Id love him to play Watson’s role as technically on the ball he looks the part. However, when he’s stuck on a touchline his only option is to pass backwards as he lacks the trickery to beat a man. He did a lot of pointing today and left Figueroa hopelessly without cover at times but he is another stifled by the manager’s tactics in my opinion. He needs to score more goals or he’ll never make it at this level. Just imagine him breaking from central midfield, I could see him smashing a few in.

there are alot of poor defenders in this league and distan is decent compared to most -i would certainly swap him for any of the disasters martinez has signed.

We will have to agree to disagree…….distan looked liked a rabbit caught in a car headlights every time he had to kick the football!

Did not go to the game. Live in Dubai. Watched the game on Abu Dhabi sports in my house. Dont have a fancy gadget. Return from middle east in 8 months for good so will be back to watching them live next season.
