Standish – I suppose you’re correct, yet Man Utd could never fill their stadium without fans from outside Manchester I don’t think. Yes they probably have 75,000+ fans in Manchester, but I doubt all of them would be able to attend every game.
And that’s the power of TV I suppose, allowing a wider audience to watch the game and claim support for a club they have little or no connection with. Shame I suppose, but what do you expect? Success attracts success motivated fans.
Northern – To be fair, not watching Wigan probably gives you a better tactical insight, as watching us can hardly improve your knowledge!
I’m joking before anyone snaps, any football is entertaining for myself as every team gives you a slightly different aspect of how the game could be played. Watching the same team over and over again if anything hinders your ability to appreciate different approaches.
