We should cash in on Powell in Jan. As soon as he goes down he’s off in a flash.
I don’t know the stat’s but I bet he’s not completed many full 90 minute games this season. We can’t afford to carry a player who’s wrapped in cotton wool and can’t play a full 90 minutes.
25 November 2018 at 4:52 pm #173321Seeing as everyone on here claims to have watched football since the non league days, most of you haven’t a clue about anything to do with the game.
25 November 2018 at 5:07 pm #173322Did anyone else notice our players time wasting and running the clock down in injury time? What the fuck is all that about? It’s about ensuring we didn’t risk another loss.
We have had a run of 4 defeats – that needed to stop.
We all of course would have loved Will to tuck away a 94th minute winner; but there was a risk of them nicking one.
So we have got the proverbial monkey off our backs now for Wednesday night. If we had gone into that with 5 losses then there would be all sorts of problems. At very best we would have shut up shop for the whole 90 minutes.
As it is we’ve broken that spell, and can now press on.25 November 2018 at 5:45 pm #173328You can be offside just in the opposition’s half and not be causing an obstruction! Had the goal come from a direct corner it would have stood as you can’t be offside directly from a corner but if you take a short one and receive the ball back in an offside position then it’s a free kick ! You would think that they know this shit in training. On saying that, opposing teams tend to have one if not two on the goal line for corners. Today they didn’t!My point was you need to be interfering with play to be offside so how was that possible when the goal was scored nearly 30 yards away?
And haven’t seen a replay yet.He received the ball when in an offside position and his pass (cross) directly resulted in ball ending up in the goal. I can’t see how you can argue that’s not interfering with play.

1 win in 5 sounds better than not won in 5
If the managers happy to draw at home to fellow struggling sides then there’s fcuk all down for us,draws won’t save us, wins will.25 November 2018 at 7:09 pm #173338We would all love to stop a losing run with a win, but life isnt that simple. The important thing is we stopped the losing run and kept a clean sheet which considering the piss poor goals we have been conceding is another bonus.
As GL said, if we had conceded late on then this board would have been full of posts claiming we should have played for the draw.

Player who crosses ball not interfering with play. Love it!!
Seriously though that corner routine was doing my but in. Why not just cross it in moving it a yard tops makes no difference and your always going to be offside from were your stood taking the corner. Bloody stupid. Put the FA cup winning goal on the training ground this week

No it wouldn’t Egg. Yesterday felt like a defeat anyway. Not many more chances for three points than yesterday.
25 November 2018 at 8:52 pm #173343Course it would. This board comes alive when we lose.

Jesus, your one positive fooker, don’t try to score we might lose ?? Wtf kinda statement is that ?.
Reading were poor, we were on top then we suddenly start slowing it down in the hope we get a point ? That’s exactly how teams go down trying to defend draws.Did you not stop to think that Reading were dropping in looking for a point ?.

I was sat at that end of the East Stand and there’s no argument, it was definitely offside.
No argument at all when the cross made the goal.26 November 2018 at 1:53 am #173359We would all love to stop a losing run with a win, but life isnt that simple. We have lost the last 4 before yesterday, created very little and given away soft goals. Yesterday we drew the game, created plenty and kept a clean sheet. Surely that must be a positive?
Losing matches gets you relegated and until yesterday that is exactly what we have been doing. Had you offered me 0-0 at kick off I’d have taken it. Losing run ended, bit of confidence at the back. Jobs a gooden.

We have lost against some very good sides. Reading were not a good side yet we did the Yootha thing and played for a point. Terrible performance all day long from Cooky I’m afraid. -
