Did anyone else notice our players time wasting and running the clock down in injury time? What the fuck is all that about?

It’s about ensuring we didn’t risk another loss.
We have had a run of 4 defeats – that needed to stop.
We all of course would have loved Will to tuck away a 94th minute winner; but there was a risk of them nicking one.
So we have got the proverbial monkey off our backs now for Wednesday night. If we had gone into that with 5 losses then there would be all sorts of problems. At very best we would have shut up shop for the whole 90 minutes.
As it is we’ve broken that spell, and can now press on.
Stop talking sense garswood, it doesnt work on here. Just boo everyone, call for cooks head and say were shit. People are wanting to sell our best player ffs

Our little group haven’t heard any rumours of a replacement for Cooky. Whats all that bullshit about?

#173365

We would all love to stop a losing run with a win, but life isnt that simple. The important thing is we stopped the losing run and kept a clean sheet which considering the piss poor goals we have been conceding is another bonus.

As GL said, if we had conceded late on then this board would have been full of posts claiming we should have played for the draw.

Jesus, your one positive fooker, don’t try to score we might lose ?? Wtf kinda statement is that ?.
Reading were poor, we were on top then we suddenly start slowing it down in the hope we get a point ? That’s exactly how teams go down trying to defend draws.

Did you not stop to think that Reading were dropping in looking for a point ?.
This is why if the very strong rumours0 that are flying around are true Cook’s successor is been lined up to takeover
And I could say that you’re one negative fooker but anyone who reads your posts can see that.

We have lost the last 4 before yesterday, created very little and given away soft goals. Yesterday we drew the game, created plenty and kept a clean sheet. Surely that must be a positive?

Losing matches gets you relegated and until yesterday that is exactly what we have been doing. Had you offered me 0-0 at kick off I’d have taken it. Losing run ended, bit of confidence at the back. Jobs a gooden.
We have lost against some very good sides. Reading were not a good side yet we did the Yootha thing and played for a point. Terrible performance all day long from Cooky I’m afraid.
Well they took more points from the last 4 than we did

Our last four were probably the toughest four we could ever be up against this season to be fair.
Yesterday was a mess, let’s hope we can do a little better against the six fingers on Wednesday.
Just have to put those chances away and up the tempo and hopefully play our better players in their best position and Blackburn are there for the taking.
Let’s do this and these rumours about Cooky that no fucker has heard will disappear.

Who’d a thought that we would be playing for a draw at home to a side who were 5th from the bottom with just one win away from 9 games! Beggars belief! Be playing for a point on Wednesday as well no doubt!

Reading could have played till midnight and not nicked one, they were poor! I wonder how many floating fans who pay per match as and when would have snapped up tickets for the Reading game had the plan to play for a draw and not concede any ( 0-0 ) been made public beforehand?

#173384

Because, Phil, it was not the plan beforehand. We created chances in the first half but spurned them. A goal or two then would have completely changed the dynamics of the game.
But as we got to 10 minutes from the end it became clear that one goal either way would swing it. We didn’t go into the game wanting a 0-0 draw, but at that point accepted that may have been the best option – take the point and get the monkey off our backs of a losing run.
As for the fact they would never have nicked one. There is always the chance that a mistimed tackle will give away a penalty, or a deflection will defeat the keeper. I know we often use the phrase “will never score if they play till whenever” but that’s not always the case.

Cooks out his depth, we had a bag full off chances, we were on top, against a poor outfit an desperate for 3pts and he’s instructing players to slow it down?, that’s the sign of a manager in trouble.
Draws will not save us winning games at home against fellow struggling sides we need to start picking up wins against sides like Reading.
Tell me, if were not beating the likes of a poor Reading team at home then who are we going to beat.
I’ve a strong feeling 2 defeats in the next 2-3 games he’s gone. These new owners won’t want to take a chance on Cook funding new players Jan.

There is a very good chance of not getting any points out of the next three games. None of the sides we are playing will be happy with a draw against us especially knowing the team’s we will have out. Don’t be surprised if that happens. We’ve seen it before with better sides but please let’s just let Cooky see the job through.

After winning a game – Cook in, he has us playing some great stuff and is the best manager since Jewell.

After losing a game – Cook is well out of his depth, he should go now.

1 week – we need to sign powell to a contract long term immediately

The next week – we should cash in on powell, he’s a passenger

The same week – we miss grigg massively

The following week – grigg isnt good enough at this level

Gotta love wiganers
