We win the FA Cup – moan it wasn’t given priority in the earlier rounds then moan because by giving it priority it relegated us, then moan because the man who oversaw that achievement left to try and better himself.
28 August 2015 at 5:17 pm #144473Surprised to see nobody moaning about the attitude of Huws, when it has been confirmed that’s exactly what he had. We’d rather moan about a players attitude when there’s no basis for it only the only evidence being not selected by bad managers.
I didn’t know about this until a Hudds supporter just grabbed me at work and I can’t help thinking we’ve got the best part of the deal and hopefully there’ll be a saving on wages.
I certainly don’t want Huws here with that attitude and I don’t want him back, fair play to Caldwell for coming out and stating the facts rather than everyone at each others throats, over what on paper could have looked a poor swap.
As for McKay, I said at the time we shouldn’t be letting MM purchase players, we let him, he didn’t play Billy and now we’re shipping him off a profit I believe, which is good business as I always thought when I did see him he was slower than me.
28 August 2015 at 5:36 pm #144474I’ve said here before I saw McKay in a Development Squad game (OK, only one game, I know) but he played a full game and didn’t impress me at all.
A lot of running into space, but not productive space that the ball carrier could reach or the space was wide and not really posing any danger. He didn’t create anything himself.

We haven’t seen Caldwell comment on many of the departures, so it seems like he knew he would have to justify this one.
I don’t know if we are hearing the full story. Wales are very likely to qualify for Euro 2016 and Huws must have one eye on being part of the squad. Playing a full season in the Championship would give him a better chance than a season in League 1.28 August 2015 at 6:42 pm #144476Inevitable any player signed as a Championship squad would be out (Wages) whether they are good, bad, contented or whingers. We had a good chance of promotion with with the squad that was left last May even after the loanees and short timers had left. Not sure now as there is a lot of time needed for a full squad of new players to pull together and gain success. Mid table would be good this time round. However well done to Gary for shipping out Crock Billy Big Bollocks Huws we do not need attitudes like his. A reject from Citeh ffs. Who does he think he is???

Dundee United have finally got their man landing Wigan’s Billy McKay.
The 26-year-old will join the Tannadice side on a season-long loan….
first a fee now a loan sounds like they couldn’t afford both the transfer and wages
The courier
Billy McKay is on the verge of becoming a Dundee United player after agreeing a season-long loan switch.
A complicated process between United, Wigan Athletic and the player’s representative is nearing a conclusion.
United agreed a £200,000 transfer fee for the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle man earlier this week, as well as terms with the Northern Ireland international.
But the move stalled after McKay couldn’t agree a severance package with the Latics.
In order to secure Jackie McNamara’s number one target, United have settled on the loan switch.
Should the move prove to be a successful one, it could of course become a permanent transfer.
It now remains to be seen whether the paperwork can be concluded in time to allow McKay to play against Ross County tomorrow.
28 August 2015 at 10:36 pm #144478If they are so keen to get him then they can also pay the bulk (if not all) of his wages.
A good bit of business, I think.

Very proud club now even if a bit of humble pie is beeing swallowed and even though there are various opinions spouted on here most of us are very proud to follow this club in our many different ways!!!29 August 2015 at 3:42 pm #144486Once proud club????
Very proud club now even if a bit of humble pie is beeing swallowed and even though there are various opinions spouted on here most of us are very proud to follow this club in our many different ways!!!I totally agree with those sentiments, however, I don’t think that we are eating humble pie. We are were we are through circumstance, a little distasteful I agree, but here we are. We have been here before and those ‘proud’ followers of the club who were there then are still with us along with quite a few recent followers and we will play our way back to the top, however long that takes. Remember that mightier clubs than us have been in this situation before and, through grit and determination (oh and a bit of financial backing) have returned to the higher levels.
I don’t subscribe to this fallacy being bandied around that we have fallen to our natural level. Over the eight years we were in the Premiership, and the preceding 3/4 years, we built our club up to something that should grace higher championship or the premier league once more – that is our level and that is where, I believe, we will return.
2 September 2015 at 12:08 am #144536Right, I think I will make this the last update as I think everyone should know all the comings and goings by now.
19 incoming transfers and 19 out going transfer, it’s been a busy old summer at the DW Stadium.
If any have been missed over the last few weeks I apologise, but feel free to copy and paste the list to add any more if you feel you need to.
