1 April 2014 at 8:05 pm #129230Yep it’s Benidorm. The nesting gulls are on Peacock Island which is the island you can see from the prom. I thought someone who has been there might have got that.
Well done again lmb.that fish is a common hogfish.
they have been around longer than people realise. a cross between pig and a carp actually.
They can grow to huge sizes, up to 40lb. Anglers are catching them using bits of bacon as bait. Be aware of their sharp teeth if you go fishing for them.
Apparently the Asian community roast them over barbeques, just like roasting a hog, I’m led to believe the taste is a cross between pork and whitefish.
I’m also told the Limey has a few small ones in there.I bet you thought you got away with that edit 7 hours after your initial reply.

He spent the summer cruising the canals, then flew to Lanzarote for the winter.
