Low Bank Ground and Hinning House . ;)
26 March 2014 at 2:19 am #12900626 March 2014 at 3:49 am #129007Sorry john I have been a little busy today to respond yes you are quite correct.
The second set of photos are of Low Bank Ground.
The first one is one of my favourite places on earth the Duddon Valley and Hinning House, both are owned by Wigan Council and if you walked over the hill at the back of Hinning House and a further 6 miles or so skirting Seathwaite Tarn, Grey Friar and Brim Fell you arrive in Coniston the ‘owd fella’ in your way is ‘The Old Man of Coniston’ which you can also skirt round or go over the top.
It’s one of wainwrights favourites, its 15 years or so since I last did it but a fit mon like you could waltz it and its spectacular to say the least.
That photo from the back of Low Bank shows the ‘Old Man’ in the distance.

29 March 2014 at 2:55 am #129104do you need a clue? You forget a conversation I had with you(on line)a couple of years ago, I have also been to that neck of the woods and have been fishing in the Gulf of California, but further down at La Paz and Cabo San Lucas I don’t know the name of the town/resort but I assume it is on Mexico’s pacific coast somewhere south of San Diego / Tijuana on Baja California.
29 March 2014 at 4:06 am #129105No, I remember the conversation mate, and I have some fantastic pictures of The Baha and California.
Sadly, ( for you)these are not any of them.Need a clue.?
More pictures?

31 March 2014 at 4:02 am #129166So what are you trying to say?
31 March 2014 at 11:54 pm #129185any takers before I move on?
1 April 2014 at 4:39 am #129198Sea is calm enough for it to be the Med, high rise buildings stacked close together likely to be hotels, someone places a plastic penis on a dogs head, favourite of wiganers – although I have never been, I would not be surprised if it is Benidorm.
The wild life photos cast a little doubt on that though, but like I said, its a place I have never been to.
1 April 2014 at 4:54 am #129200A little change not a where but a what this time, you have a head start on this one john.
Scientists have developed a fish especially for commercial fisheries, they have taken the next step from ‘F1’s’which is a genetic carp/crucian-carp hybrid, that was bred to feed all year round as opposed to just spring-autumn like natural fish mostly do.
Anyway enough of the background what is this new fish called, they have been stocked in numerous fisheries as a trial.
1 April 2014 at 7:25 am #129201Yep it’s Benidorm. The nesting gulls are on Peacock Island which is the island you can see from the prom. I thought someone who has been there might have got that.
Well done again lmb.that fish is a common hogfish.
they have been around longer than people realise. a cross between pig and a carp actually.
They can grow to huge sizes, up to 40lb. Anglers are catching them using bits of bacon as bait. Be aware of their sharp teeth if you go fishing for them.
Apparently the Asian community roast them over barbeques, just like roasting a hog, I’m led to believe the taste is a cross between pork and whitefish.
I’m also told the Limey has a few small ones in there. -
