Muscle injuries???? Bert Trautmann carried on playing with a broken neck, and didn’t our own Harry Lyon get his injured leg strapped up only to return to the pitch later in the match and score a hattrick.

Totally different game nowadays.I agree that international friendlies are rubbish though, but breaks for qualifiers etc are needed.
Maybe for important qualifiers, but not for run of the mill matches that mean nowt or qulifiers against nations where Rochdale U17 would expect to get a result.

I’d forgot about that, and didn’t realise it was so early in the game.
Off on the Sunday, travel on the Monday, train on the Tuesday, play on the Wednesday, day off on the Thursday, train on the Friday, play again on the Saturday.
It’s still not a full time job and would only be every month or so.

I thought he went to Bury or somewhere like that after he left us, I didn’t realise he became a songwriter.
