Last time we met, Latics 1 Rovers 1.
Att. 14,625.
Can we improve either of those stats?
Coyle has strengthened Rovers from last season so they won’t be easy to beat. It is debatable whether we have strengthened our squad much in terms of quality and numbers required for The Championship so it could be a well earned draw for us.
Attendance wise we will have done really well if we can match that last crowd v Rovers. 2500 tops from Blackburn and won’t be many home fans who haven’t bought season tickets attending so this one will give us an idea of season tickets sold.
So a draw and 13500 would be about right. Hope both are better but it will be a struggle.11 August 2016 at 11:09 pm #1499061-0 Latics.
12,876.
The above result and attendance will be alright as far as I am concerned Donald.
11 August 2016 at 11:47 pm #149908Been thinking about the attendance for saturday and would be disappointed at less than 15,000.Back in the championship, playing local team who should bring about 3,500 cheap season tickets, don’t know what more the club can do to attract support. lost about six or seven thousand since we were in the prem, what the hell are these people doing on a saturday afternoon. Thats alot of people not going anymore. Anyway i’ll be there 2-1 wigan, up the tic’s.
12 August 2016 at 12:30 am #149909Blackburn have sold 1700 tickets. I can’t see them doubling it in the space of a couple of days.
12 August 2016 at 12:52 am #149910Like Horc says 12,876 would be looking quite good then. Blackburn can pay on the gate unlike home fans so there could be 2,500 from Ewood. So that would be over 10,300 home fans. Probably equating then to 9/10,000 season tickets sold.
Win will still be hard though as they have strengthened an established Championship side whereas we have probably not even reached the quality of squad we had last season yet and lost some of the momentum of a League One Winning side by the squad being dissected like it as.12 August 2016 at 12:55 am #149911Would hope for a decent crowd of around 15k. Think we’ll win, especially if we play like we did in the first half at Bristol. Won’t be there in body but will be in spirit.

Interesting comment, how do you work that one out?
12 August 2016 at 1:36 am #149913BBurn have 3 players injured that would probably be in the starting 11.

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!12 August 2016 at 2:35 am #1499162 1 Latics. 11000 tops.
12 August 2016 at 2:36 am #14991711,500 ish for me……as for result? Call me negative but I do fancy Rovers….beaten by Norwich comfortably who could turn out to be serious promotion material. Bounced back in midweek Stokes 3 goals in 11/2 games …..work near Blackburn so would love a win but I think our stuttering start means it’s a draw at best I think.
12 August 2016 at 3:06 am #149918In reply Jimmy at the end of the last fantastic season we had McAleny on loan as the extra striker as yet we have not replaced cover for this position. Vuckic was on loan as a striker/midfielder and hasn’t been replaced.
We have brought in Powell but let Chris McCann go. Yes Powell is younger but no better a midfielder than Chris. Odelousi was shite but not been replaced. Morsy looks like he is out of favour but Gilbey has arrived. Is Gilbey a better midfielder?
Warnock was already here.
Taylor, McKay were on loan came back and went again.
Huws will go.
Nichols gone but Bogdan could be a better replacement.
Burn and Buxton have arrived but Pearce and Barnet have gone and the spare left back Wabara as gone too along with Kevin McNaughton.
So maybe slightly stronger in player ability but shorter in numbers but we are at an higher level.
As Gary says ‘We need to bring players in’12 August 2016 at 1:03 pm #149919Not that I’m arsed about attendances but if these home crowd figures are close to correct, I would imagine the club very disappointed considering the st prices.
There’ll be more wearing Pogba shirts in Wigan town centre Saturday aft
12 August 2016 at 5:17 pm #149921Well there has been nothing from the club one way or the other disappointed or pleased at the way season ticket sales have gone.
I should have imagined most fans from last year will have re-newed and some of the others who had attended last season and payed on the day.
The ones to attract would be the ones from the last season in The Greed League and from the first season after relegation.
We will have a good idea after the Birmingham game on numbers sold.13 August 2016 at 12:21 am #14992825 quid for non s/t holders is a bit steep for tight arsed Wiganers.
13 August 2016 at 2:33 am #149929That’s why there won’t be many pay on the day fans True Latic Forever Mon but the option was there for a fantastic season ticket deal.
However for £25 there should be a pint and pie included or a free kids ticket clod in.
Season ticket prices amazing but at £25 that’s one way of cutting down the waiting time at the ticket office on match days. -
