13 August 2016 at 3:58 am #149930In reply Jimmy at the end of the last fantastic season we had McAleny on loan as the extra striker as yet we have not replaced cover for this position. Vuckic was on loan as a striker/midfielder and hasn’t been replaced.
We have brought in Powell but let Chris McCann go. Yes Powell is younger but no better a midfielder than Chris. Odelousi was shite but not been replaced. Morsy looks like he is out of favour but Gilbey has arrived. Is Gilbey a better midfielder?
Warnock was already here.
Taylor, McKay were on loan came back and went again.
Huws will go.
Nichols gone but Bogdan could be a better replacement.
Burn and Buxton have arrived but Pearce and Barnet have gone and the spare left back Wabara as gone too along with Kevin McNaughton.
So maybe slightly stronger in player ability but shorter in numbers but we are at an higher level.
As Gary says ‘We need to bring players in’Fair point re up front, we’re very light in that dept.
We look stronger in defence for me and the ones That have gone won’t be missed (apart from Pearce).13 August 2016 at 12:28 pm #149931Looking forward to it today, can’t wait.
We’ve had some tear ups over the years against Blackburn; let’s hope it’s another today.
Still talking about that 5-3 in Dec 2007
13 August 2016 at 1:04 pm #149932Can’t give any corners away against these men!
13 August 2016 at 1:12 pm #149933I think the club have said there will be no pay on the day tickets this season ?
13 August 2016 at 1:24 pm #149934You can pay on the day today but from the main ticket office or the east stand ticket office but it is also £2 more on the day
13 August 2016 at 3:38 pm #149935I have a spare season ticket going for today ( Mate is on his hols! ) buy us a pint and we’ll say nothing more about it! Message me your number if you want it and I’ll ring you to arrange meeting point. It’s in East Stand and once in you can go sit where you want, you don’t have to endure our moaning and groaning!
13 August 2016 at 10:00 pm #149939Fabulous three points and not far out on the gate Horc.
Being generous and saying 2000 from Blackburn that’s over 10000 home fans so looks in the region of 9-9500 season tickets sold. That’s a good increase on last year. Now it’s a matter of getting the casual attenders going.
How they can do that I don’t know but how did Whelan make millions out of selling cheap Chinese tat.13 August 2016 at 11:12 pm #149941Good three points today, expected it really. Suspect rovers will struggle with that idiot in charge.
How did we play, what formation and any stand out players for us?

Good all round performance apart from a shaky 15 minutes at the start of the 2nd half. Blacburn were on top, but didn’t have a shot on target in that period, their first shot on target was after 85 minutes.
If we had been 5 or 6 up at half time there couldn’t have been any complaints from Blackburn, they were terrible in every area.
Powell and Gilbey were stand out players for me, with Power just edging the MOM for me.
Young Burke looked like he had played for us for years and looks like a great prospect.
The rest of the defence were untroubled, marshalled excellently by Morgan.
Grigg worked his bollox off as usual and looked to have more support than last year with Powell, Gilbey and Wildshutt all getting up there with him.
The three subs, Chow, Jacobs and Davies all looked okay when they came on.
Perkins looked solid in his new role on the left of midfield.
Bogdan fluffed a couple of crosses but was never troubled.
A very encouraging first home performance of the season albeit against a side devoid of ideas for most of the match.

Good turn out, how many did Wigan Warriors take to Castleford to see their team lose as well?
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!14 August 2016 at 3:12 pm #149950Meaning less than 10,000 home fans on. So that looks like ST sales are somewhere between 9-9500 then which really isn’t bad.
£27-00 a chuck most definitely kept the crowd down. This was the reason crowds were kept low at Nob End last season and again yesterday. Burnley too struggled in the season the went up with Leicester.
£27-00 will never attract casuals. So for a decent average crowd this season we will be relying on away support unless casual fans decide to buy season tickets and commit to going to 8 or so matches.
£20 max price may just have been a better idea and that would be fair on ST holders as that’s more than double the price they pay per match.
It’s a difficult one.14 August 2016 at 3:32 pm #149951Why the extra £2 on the day?
People who decide on a Saturday morning to attend a game have to pay an extra 2 quid.
What for? The women in the ticket office aren’t doing anything different than what they would Mon-Fri!
Back to £20 on Tuesday i see against Brum or do punters have to pay £22 if they only purchase a ticket Tuesday afternoon?
Fuck the EFL
14 August 2016 at 4:09 pm #149954pay on the day now has a 2 quid charge total bllx one lad turned up had 25 quid but was turned away …the lad said they wouldnt back down so he fked off…now that helps if true
