That’s what tonight was like. Very little quality on show on either side. I was amazed at how lacklustre we were with such an alleged disciplinarian in charge.
Plus point (singular) – Adam Forshaw is going to turn out to be a bloody good player for us. He wasn’t outstanding tonight by any stretch but you can tell the lad’s got it.

I hope you’re right, but I’m still not convinced.
22 October 2014 at 7:33 pm #134350Bit disrespectful.
I bet some league two sides could hammer us at the minute.

Someone like ermm Burton for instance Egg? ;)
22 October 2014 at 9:53 pm #134362I thought Forshaw had a pretty bad game last night!
23 October 2014 at 1:24 pm #134372I thought Forshaw had a pretty bad game last night!I’d have to disagree. I watched him pretty closely on Tuesday night and he has a really good touch and a quick mind, a few light years quicker than some of his team mates. One for the future, make no mistake.
I also watched Riera closely who did precisely nothing. He lost 95% of headers. He was offside three times where any pro footballer, let alone striker, should not have been caught. His positional sense was rubbish. He was lightweight in the challenge. The old chestnut about a striker not getting service doesn’t apply here. At least Fortune ran around and looked for it whilst delivering nothing.

Well I beg to differ! If you watched him closely you would have seen him giving the ball away cheaply with errant passing and being caught in possession! Against Brentford he was far worse than any of their midfield and we are the ones who are supposed to have pulled of a transfer coup! I said the same about Cowie and now some are starting to agree with me on him and the same applies to Forshaw re giving the ball away. Looking brighter and quicker than that set of players we currently have is nothing to get excited about trust me!! ;)
23 October 2014 at 2:06 pm #134379Like I said in the OP, he wasn’t outstanding but there was enough there for me to show that he is a very decent player who will get better the more he plays for us. He made mistakes but he is a player that can make things happen. Just give it time and you’ll see.
I don’t see the comparison with Cowie. Just looking at where Cowie’s been and what he’s done tells you pretty much what you need to know.
23 October 2014 at 7:57 pm #134385Totally agree with the lack of quality on show and unfortunately it is starting to turn supporters away. I have always supported both the latics and the warriors but always attended far more latics games. However now I find myself enjoying the rugby far more and so does my daughter, so we now attend the rugby more as we feel we get far more value for money entertainment. Went to Old Trafford for the grand final the other week and spoke to quite a few other supporters (Both Wigan and St Helens) who were doing the same. But I don’t suppose the overpaid latics lot will give two hoots about the decline in support!!

Don’t kow about you, but I support this club no matter how well it is playing or how well it is doing in the league. Maybe it’s just me that’s daft.

Not much of a Latics supporter though are you? Eight seasons in the Prem and one poor season so far in this league and you’re losing interest? I’d been embarrassed to call myself a supporter.

Bet it was something for her and her mates to talk about in the playground or over a glass of wine.
Value for money?, 5 or 6 competitive games a season is not my idea of VFM. I know lads who are warriors season ticket holders, but miss several home games because they will be over with after 15-20 mins.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!24 October 2014 at 1:00 am #134397Maybe we have hit rock bottom and things will improve from now on and let’s also not forget that was one filthy s//t of a night on Tuesday weather wise!!!
Derby are on a blitz of a run and I have had a feeling all week that we will chalk up a win on Saturday despite everything that is going on.24 October 2014 at 2:37 am #134398Griff, I don’t claim to be a top supporter who never misses. Like I said I have always followed both teams. But in my opinion it’s a two way street. You pay to watch and be entertained and judging by the gates there are several thousand fans who are doing the same. For what it’s worth I actually gave up my season ticket three years ago when we were still in the prem. As for the punches at old trafford yes it was a truly disgusting act which ruined a great day, paying 120 quid for three tickets I felt cheated to be honest but it doesn’t just happen in rugby. I was at DW when macmanaman nearly knee capped the Newcastle player, when Duncan Ferguson punched scharner, when lee mculloch smashed Chris Morgan in the face and at Springfield park when Graeme Jones butted an opposition player!
