21 December 2009 at 2:39 pm #15718Imagine a world where the labour council stop filling their expenses in and get a gritter out to sort these problems !
I guess from the pictures that the club are paving the way for the game being called off.
After the farce of not getting out and gritting roads on Sunday, they need to get their act sorted !
Rubbish council !
Not too sure that this is a council problem, as most of the ise is on the Staium property and lead in roads.
Also, the match won’t be delayed as it is not to allow more time for peolpe to get there, but for it to be safe under foot once at the ground.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
21 December 2009 at 2:41 pm #15720What I can’t understand is looking at the tens of thousands of people milling around Robin Park, many pushing young babies around in buggies, car parks full of vehicles, roads bumper to bumper with traffic etc. etc why should a match that will attract less people to the area than fekin Argos will, be called off!!
I am a health and safety officer and it really does my head in when people take the easy option and blame H & S for anything they can.
Mr Hayton just go outside and see all this activity going on around the ground and then tell the retail park that shopping is cancelled due to H & S!!From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!21 December 2009 at 2:47 pm #15722I was talking more about the approach roads and roads from Shevvy etc being a nightmate over the weekend, with no presence from the polive or council to try help motorists. The council are responsible for the roads, along with the highways agency but it was shocking out there on Sunday.
I suspect the club fear legal action if the game goes ahead and someone gets hurt around the ground.
Surely a spade and a large bucket of salt would do the trick?
21 December 2009 at 2:51 pm #15723Surely a spade and a large bucket of salt would do the trick?Spade? I’m not sure you are allowed to say that anymore.
21 December 2009 at 2:54 pm #15724Maybe use a pick then
21 December 2009 at 2:54 pm #15725I suspect the club fear legal action if the game goes ahead and someone gets hurt around the ground.Or Big Dave has seen how much those ‘free’ flags are gonna cost him so spent the night with a hose outside the ground.
21 December 2009 at 2:57 pm #15726A hose or his whores?
21 December 2009 at 2:58 pm #15727A risk assessment should be completed to identify controls to make things happen not look for reasons why they can’t.
1) Get some grit down and get the outside of the ground cleared, [its took me a good hour this morning to clear my drive due to the thickness of the ice, but I’ve done it] just throw some bodies at it!!
2) Get some extra stewards to supervise the car parks, and keep traffic speeds down.
3) The approach roads are being used as I type so what’s the problem.
If someone goes down, which they could easily do it if it was wet and windy, then you’ve done everything that is reasonably practicable to prevent accidents / incidents.
I’m bored already and not been off a full day yet, I need this footy game!!

What a journey!21 December 2009 at 3:15 pm #15733Looks like the game is off due to them unable to unfreeze the pies.
At least we have time to get new players in before we play this crucial game !!
21 December 2009 at 3:15 pm #15734Deffo Off :(
21 December 2009 at 3:33 pm #15737Where’s loudmouth? Surely he can supply sufficient hot-air to help us in our hour of need.
I’ve already got a fiver on him being the first to blame the lack of grit on the Spanish One  [/quote]
And he’d be right to blame him, if we hadn’t sold Brown…… -
