21 December 2009 at 3:47 pm #15739Looks like the game is off due to them unable to unfreeze the pies.
At least we have time to get new players in before we play this crucial game !!
Hold on a minute, I know it’s Christmas, and the time of miracles, such as the miraculous pregnancy of the virgin Mary, the plague of Locusts that put paid to Herod’s heinous plans to kill baby Jesus, the fact that 3 kings arrived to give the baby gifts of gold, frankensense, and a ‘Baby Tad’, as well as the fact (possibly) that whilst there were no rooms at the inn, the parents to be, found sanctuary at the local Premier Inn (Bethlehem North Services) where they managed to get a room with full English for £55, and even a late check out agreement, and a day ticket to the local petting farm for themselves and the kings……. :o
But to suggest that our esteemed chairman will actually remember that we need players on top of all the above, is maybe stretching hope too far.
What will it be this time? 4 out and 2 in?

21 December 2009 at 3:57 pm #1574221 December 2009 at 7:53 pm #15758Where’s loudmouth? Surely he can supply sufficient hot-air to help us in our hour of need.
I’ve already got a fiver on him being the first to blame the lack of grit on the Spanish One  [/quote]
i was told by one of our suppliers just the other day there is a world shortage of the type of unrefined rock salt needed for gritting and we as a country have nearly exhausted our natural reserves of the stuff so we import the majority.
where from you might add ?
well some salt marsh area in spain !!!
i kid ye not.
and standish despite my undoubted ability to produce hot air(like the majority on here)even i can’t produce enough to keep warm at the moment.
21 December 2009 at 8:03 pm #15760I think it’s a good shout by the club that, The festive period is hectic enough already and on present form Bolton would have probably snatched that tonight, So hopefully when we play em next we have a better squad and its playing with confidence. Plus on the plus side for me, Im working nights this week and ive been p’eed off for days knowong i was missing it. Roll on Blackburn. Could work to our advantage having a game in hand over our rivals for a couple of months mentally.

Good to see you back Loudmouth. I was beginning to think you’d taken a festive posting holiday.
If Martinez is anything to do with the Spanish rock salt, I’ll bet the collection of it is a joy to watch with left hand drive lorries on the wrong side of the road, and right handers on the other etc. etc.
21 December 2009 at 8:11 pm #15762I couldn’t resist it – taken from http://www.saltsense.co.uk/aboutsalt-env01.htm
“The proven UK salt reserves are extensive, with an estimated 500 years capacity at current extraction rates.”

Before we know it, this board will be getting back to the good old days, if we’re not careful. Perhaps all the kids, idiots and multis are too cold to type
