Actually, LMB, I don’t think we do particularly look a worse team. But then again, we have only seen Caldwell of the new players playing regularly so it’s virtually the same team. I’m not going to judge Moreno on one game or Moses on the 20 minutes or so that I have seen.

I think we are showing some slight signs of improvement but that we will be touch and go for survival and hopefully there will be at least 3 teams who will perform worse than us. That has been my view since 2005, actually.

And I only ‘slate’ your opinions because you present them in such an agressive and condescending manner and it’s usually a good bit of banter – after our early days, anyway. ;)

Oh, and I did actually misinterpret your “tenth” comment, so I retract that.

so clever one please tell me where in your masterpiece of detective work does it say that i sanction or condone that type of play,i am merely pointing out if you care to read it, that when bruce’s team knocked it up front it didnt go straight into touch unlike it does when the defence keep knock 50 yard diagonal balls foward, and everything martinez is not as rosy as supporters make out, just the same as the other claim that everything bruce’s side did was gash.

it would have been very difficult for any team to play flowing football on that pitch last night but we never once tried and giving the ball away every time we went foward without bolton having to make a tackle(as we did second half against stoke and everton) cannot in any way be blamed on the state of the pitch,.
i have been saying all season(and that is the gist of the thread you chose to bring up)we dont play a tenth of the football that the blinkered ones on here claim we do,and that my dear standish is my gripe with both you believers on here and the spanish one himself.

Well, cleverer one, this ‘detective masterpiece’ was a result of you challenging me to find one place where you said the ball should be banged up the middle, and that’s what I did. I am glad however, that you consider my two minutes of clicking the button on a mouse to be a masterpiece.

Perhaps I wrongly misconstrued the tone of your posts, and took them as support for Bruce’s style of play. So, if you didn’t like Bruce’s style of play, and don’t like Martinez’s style of play, did you like Jewell’s style of play in the Premier League, and would you not class Jewell’s style of play as long ball, or at least direct?

I was going to go into how, in my opinion, the pitch can be blamed for misplaced passes, poor control, and resorting to giving the ball away by hoofing it forwards (which was the whole point of my original post), but I can’t be bothered.

Whatever I say, you won’t agree with, and whatever you say, I’ll not agree with.

That is one of the most honest and clever postings ever made on here.

Martinez is responsible for a lot of things – bad crowds arent one of them.

That is down to bone idle Wiganers who want everything handed to them on a plate and would probably moan that they’d had to pay their bus fair to get to the ground if it was free to get in and there was a free pint waiting for them on entry.

The “pitch” can only be used as any sort of excuse for the last 3 games.

Maybe so, but I was only referring to last night and why there were so many instances of poor control – on both teams I might add, and why they resorted to launching the ball at nearly every opportunity.

You can blame Martinez for poor selection and poor tactics, but not the poor ball control of players during a game.
