….that’s all really.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!18 April 2014 at 10:38 pm #129990Agreed, no loan players in the starting lineup, best performance for a while, coincidence? waghorn first centre forward we’ve had for a while with a genuine eye for goal, roger great energy unlike some who’ve been in there lately, and as for Gomez, can’t resist the digs at the booboys behind me who have finally been silenced.. Bliss!!
18 April 2014 at 10:42 pm #129991We looked a very strong side today. Were Reading poor or did we make them look poor? Who cares frankly!
What a difference to have Maloney back to full fitness; he looked sharp today as did Callum…and what a goal from Jordi
6 of the Cup Final starting 11 started today…the six who are still here and not at erm, that club in Liverpool. Is that the first time that’s happened this season? I’ll leave it to WGTB to tell us ;)
Handy results as well with Bournemouth loosing and Brighton drawing, just need Ipswich not winning tomorrow to complete the set. 1 more win and we’re 99% certain for the play offs. Let’s secure the play off spot asap then see how far up we can push.
18 April 2014 at 11:01 pm #129992Midfield was the difference today; we had energy & creativity !
18 April 2014 at 11:25 pm #129995An excellent performance all round today. The defense were rarely tested, but strong when necessary, the midfield completely ran the show and we looked like scoring every time we went forward.
Probably one of, if not, the best performance of the season.19 April 2014 at 12:06 am #130000An excellent performance all round today. The defense were rarely tested, but strong when necessary, the midfield completely ran the show and we looked like scoring every time we went forward.
Probably one of, if not, the best performance of the season.Agreed. A brilliant performance.
Roger just about shaded MOTM for me. He deserved it for the effort he put in.
19 April 2014 at 1:34 am #130004Six cup final starters – plus Al Habsi and Beausejour who were very much part of the team last season.
However, the performance at the Etihad was excellent too, but with quite a different team;
Carson
Boyce Ramis McCann
Perch McArthur McEachran Gómez Crainey
McManaman FortuneFive who played under Roberto
Five players signed by Coyle
One player signed on loan by Rosler19 April 2014 at 3:12 am #130009Fair play WGTB but you really need to find something better to do!!

19 April 2014 at 12:08 pm #130017I agree with the Espinoza shout ,one of his best performances for some time and the midfield looks very good with him in there.
He breaks up play and has pace which creates attacks aplenty and he was easily the man of the match yesterday.19 April 2014 at 1:31 pm #130019Am I missing something?
Espinoza is brilliant at the running around and tackling bit, but at times his passing is shocking.
It was exactly the same yesterday. He had a decent game but was behind McArthur, Gomez, and Perch for me.

Agreed but the 3together give us a great mix in midfield, mccarthur has been awesome recently

It’s the energy “running around” and closing down that makes the difference – the final piece of the jigsaw. When you consider all the loanees who’ve played and contributed very little, Rog was a breath of fresh air yesterday and the performance of the whole siide was lifted.
Leave the fancy passing to Mr Gomez who was also excellent yesterday as was young James.
Best league performance of the season for me. :)
19 April 2014 at 4:05 pm #130026Espinoza was excellent yesterday and his closing down made a big difference to the usual backing off stuff. His energy was boundless ! His assist for Gomez’s goal was brilliant, he could oh so easily have gone down under the challenge ! MOM for me ! :)
