only just finished work, didn’t even know the score/crowd etc………….i feel sorry for the players (i actually know 2), they where the best team (finished top) over 20 odd games and then a team who finished way down the league get’s to the final AGAIN.
the people who i DON’T feel sorry for are their bigoted/racist/xenophobic/old fashioned/deluded/brainwashed “fans”. who had already pre – purchased tickets for the final at man utd’s football stadium in blatant expectation of playing there.
unlucky, always next year, tickets for the next challenge cup final are actually on sale RIGHT NOW, as unbelievable as that sounds. think before you buy worryers……night night

So Wigan again fail to make the GF. According to some of their fans they only had to turn up to win.
They cowardly dodged Warrington in clubcall and tonight got their just deserts.
The arrogance of this club shone through when Ian Lenagan told anyone who would listen that the majority of RL ‘wanted a Wigan/Warrington final’.
What gives this man the right to speak for most RL fans?
No offence to Wire but I hope Saints win the other semi so Mr Lenagan will get his ‘nightmare final’.
I don’t care what anyone says, there is no way this lot are the world’s biggest Rugby League club. Their success of 1985-1995 were when they were the only total professional club.
They are so big they don’t even have their own stadium and are lodgers in a football ground!
It’s the big day in the RL calender next week and yet again the Warriors and their supporters will be on the outside looking in.

He meant that if the two sides who have consistently performed over 27 rounds of league fixtures got to slug it out in the final then you would have a great game between the two sides who had finished top of the pile. Sadly that isnt going to be the case and Leeds have timed their run to perfection again, having been pretty mediocre throughout the season.
However, they are there and we are not. At the end of the day, its a bloody game and there are far more important things going on in the world – earlier this week, I was involved at work in the hosting of the family of a young colleague of mine who was killed last year. If they can be strong over losing their 21 year old son, then a 1pt defeat to the current SL champions isnt going to have me reaching for the bottle of pills.
On the bright side for those who take delight in the town’s rugby side falling at the semi-finals – at least you have a chance of filling the ground for the Everton game now!

Isn’t that a sad indictment of RL at the moment

Sorry to here that but why bring that up in a post when there as been constant banter between you and SDW

sorry to hear that lotp, but i agree with 35ywafc here, what has that got to do with this or any sports board???????
would you have brought that up if you had won………………….NO! it would have been “rugger town” this and “final” that, “wendyball” etc…………poor banter lotp, i’m disappointed in you. hopefully you’ll be on form again sat 5pm when we lose to the mackems (who i believe you support)?????
oh and the toffees game would have had a 19k crowd regardless of a final at another “wendyball” stadium in salford. Remember the chall cup final 2010, over 17k at lunchtime against a newly promoted london side who brought under under 2k
never mind mutty, we shall resume pleasantries after the sunderland game.

No – there wouldnt have been a thread on the subject had Warriors won. It tends to go quiet when that happens.

I do – wasnt that the day you had to move your massive fixture to accommodate a tin-pot pit village sporting fixture at a football stadium? And give away over 5,000 tickets to local kids.
Finally, before I leave you to your wank-fest and trip to the SOL tomorrow on Sudworth’s happy bus, I’ll give you the answer to the question you repeatedly ducked out of yesterday:
8k less than wafc v west brom then in a bog standard league match, your attendance tonight, no excuses lotp 7k & 12k for your last 2 games of the season………………..
players leaving, fans wanting their coach sacked (rlchubby.com), poor crowds, boycotting hull away because it was £23 to get in, one man team (sam tomlinson) as proved tonight. No national newspaper coverage, no money anywhere in your entire sport, light years behind union, millions of galaxies behind “wendyball” and according to the picture doing the rounds on twitter which i have seen, RACIST TOSSER FANS. But we knew that already with your constant abuse to our foreign players not being from “wiggin”
good bye rugger league, you do know you lot are gonna get it all the way to the new year….happy 2013,
with love from a bigger league than your village team will ever, ever play in…..nighty night
