Hey, A Worriors Fan not Biassed , Ive more chance of winning lottery.
His name Leyther should give you a clue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
13 June 2010 at 1:53 am #37067I see an outstanding Wigan talent in Sam Tomkins scored four tries against the French tonight.
I also noted there were no Wigan youngsters in the England foosball team that failed to beat America.Do they play foosbal in America, they really don’t care about it.
When did a Wigan born player last play for England at foosball?
I know Peggy Melling, but she was from Billinge. How come we can produce Rugby players (both codes) athletes and swimmers or do they just swim up the Leeds Liverpool canal or run along the A58?
bump.
i will hold my hand up and say i briefly glanced at your post and thought you was saying when was the last time a latics player played for England. the point is, is that there is not a massive pool of players to pick from in rugby league.

Now we are discussing sensibly like adults and not children. Of course there is more chance of a kid making the England set up at RL because Wigan produce so many young players. However they also produce more than any other comparable RL playing area.
Wigan have produced RL, RU, swimmers and athletes. Why not footballers, which was my question.
We should not be knocking our town for producing excellence (in whatever sporting field) we should be proud of them.
Would you not agree?13 June 2010 at 2:10 am #37072they live in a different world then everyone else 32. the wheel as turned and they don’t like it up em Mr mannering. That’s a lie.
All the Wigan fans were very complimentary of the work Mick Hogan did.13 June 2010 at 2:13 am #37073Anonymous
as posters on here know i am not from wigan i live in leyland. when i started watching the latics back in 1982 there was not many out of towners who watched latics. there as all ways been a lot more people from out side wigan who follow the rugby team then the tics and that is fact!
That’s a great argument.
I live out of town but support the Latics
Of course it takes a lot to be picked from. You have ignored the athletes and swimmers and RU players.
How many junior RL players are there?
Before they get to U18 International, the fall out is incredible. And you’ve still not answered the question, why no footballers?
And if and when we do I’ll be proud of him to be a fellow Wiganer.13 June 2010 at 2:31 am #37078they live in a different world then everyone else 32. the wheel as turned and they don’t like it up em Mr mannering. They soon stabbed noble in the back, my mate .never trust a klump.13 June 2010 at 2:33 am #37079why rouge because football is the all of the country were as rl is yorkshire and lancashire. i all ways remember the captain of englands football under 17’s who died tragically in a road accident he was born in wigan. so he played for england were as it really does not take that much to be picked for england rl youth team.as for wi fat you sad lurker at least when i started watching the latics they was not a big team. it takes a little man to support a big club but takes a big man to follow a small team.the arrogant rubbish we had to put up with from you lot back in the day grated a lot but now the wheel as turned.

13 June 2010 at 2:58 am #37087My daughter tries to blame my son for things when she wants to distract me from her misdemeanours. Replies about Mick Hogan are all well and good, but they dont answer the question posed:
I’ll make it a bit easier…Include the 2nd tier too.
How many Wigan-born players have represented England or Wigan Athletic in the premiership or League 1 in the last 10 years?
(Here’s a helping hand….People born in Leicester dont count).
