does the outpouring of national pride in this country happen during the cricket world cup ?
same could be asked for any other world cup you care do think of , although i would keep my powder dry , at least untill weds . you may see a different national emotion and a few car flags in the gutter
we are all well aware that football is massive , there is no need to try to hammer that point home , we get it .
young girls are now growing up wanting to be a ‘wag’
as regards the pubs being full , again , its a pretty tenuous link , its more of a social thing in my book .
example ? a team gets to a cup final at wembley , lets say the average attendance for the season has been 10k , all of a sudden there are 40k at the final .
i dont think anybody has said that people in wigan arent intereseted in football , what has been said is wigan hasnt produced many footballers , both the town and club itself but as has allready been eluded to , it has produced champions in other sports
to be honest , i dont really see what you are getting at , and i wasted enough of my life reading the first 5 pages of this thread in the first place to start going back and looking through your posts
you are correct one thing though , you do not impress me , or a few others by the looks of the last few replys .
being arrogant and condescending to others is a pretty poor way of getting your point across and is generally a sign of someone who is struggling to win the debate so feels the need to resort to insults
And hear’s what our fat sweaty lodgers think of football supporters.
and to think they moved the game tonight. I haven’t watched a minute of it. England and football in general is Sh***.
cant believe that there have been millions w******* over it for the last week, sad little t******
The trouble with the chubbies is that they want England to fail in there own little world they think that if England have any degree of sucess the nation will be one in celebrating that sucess.
Where as M62 Englans win owt it’s confined to a paragraph in the Metro newspaper you get on buses of course the unbiased WEP will have a 4 page pull out about it but thats as far as it goes
All these years they’ve convinced themselves Wigans a rugby town yet they now step out of their front door to be confronted by a sea of St Georges flags.

Jewel
My condescending, arrogant, and yes I admit, insulting nature comes out only for people like yourself, who are clearly posting on here to poke a stick in a wasps’ nest and see what happens.
I don’t believe for a minute that you are a genuine Latics supporter, and suspect you are either from one of the rugby forums or the alter ego from a regular poster on here.
Your posts in the past have always had a noticeably negative slant about them, so that would suggest to me that you are posting to try and get a rise, or perhaps you never agree with anyone on here. You have that rise, so mission accomplished.
If you feel I am being insulting because I am losing a debate, although my argument is aimed at, primarily, Rogues Gallery and his misguided anti-football posts, then fair enough, you are right, I am wrong, and as I’ve not impressed anyone, I am a failure and will return to my basket immediately.
Alternatively, I’ll probably just carry on as usual and engage in debate with those I enjoy doing so with.

Er yes, a hell of a lot more than it does for the RL World Cup – and that’s coming from someone who actually likes rugby league and supports (not actively) the Warriors too.

He impresses me. Don’t be impressed that JamesC is not impressed.
I think you are confusing arrogant and condescending with simply using bigger and better words and phrases than you, putting them in the right places and spelling them correctly
Your post brought me out of my dejected state. I thought I was going to be sobbing all day, wondering where it had all gone wrong..
On another note, I watched the rugby yesterday, and thought it a highly entertaining game. I was disappointed with the result, as I find the people of St Helens even more annoying than Wigan RL supporters.
Amusingly, my mother took my three and a half year old lad to watch the game, who during a bit of a lull in the crowd noise said at the top of his voice ‘Nanny, is that one Titus Bramble?’
I always thought that when people stated that most of the thugby fans are from out of town a bit of a myth .
No longer the case what I witnessed today dropping a relative off at the train station at 5:10 toneet all platforms were swamped with the sods heading for Prston and the North and heading Warrington and the South also a shed full on the scouse express as well are their any from Wigan 8-)
