First job losses directly affecting people I know today, as a major North West distributor has announced they will be pulling out of the UK, at meeting with workers this morning.

A well thought out knee jerk reaction, then !
But whatever this company was distributing will still need hauling around the country, so his loss will be somebody else’s gain.[/quote]

Aww what a lovely way of looking at it, he also has a farm and has just lost £3000 a year in EU money too, he’s made up.
I’ll pass on your thoughts to him, I’m sure he’ll be chuffed to bits.

Don’t talk such a pile of crap. The date for leaving has not yet been agreed, so until then it’s business as usual; and in the intervening period the farming subsidies will be re-engineered to suit our change in situation. I suggest you investigate why subsidies exist in the first place, then consider how this will change before making more knee jerk comments.

A lot of the remain luvvies that I have spoken to fail to grasp the importance of long term strategy and cannot see past their own short term greed. In fact I should re-name them the “Bugger You Jack, I’m Alright Mob”. These types are hardly the backbone of Great Britain !

Australia, Korea, and India all want to open trade talks with Britain soon to be followed by Canada and New Zealand. Don’t tell remain tho they are still predicting armageddon.

Where do the EU get that money from Terry?

We will simply cut out the middle man (EU).

What makes you think this will happen?

Let’ fund our NHS with the £350m we send to the EU, it proclaimed on Boris’ bus.
            Err…. but we didn’t really mean that….!

            Still bleating about it.

The scene in my office: little huddles of BYJIAM ( as Papa christened them )bleating & crying away in the corner. Whilst the Leavers are sleeves rolled up, getting on with the business of running the company. Always been the same really.

Think I’ll piss em off and walk through the office whistling The Great Escape !

I’m happy to debate this here. But cut out the “Bitter Remainer” responses.

              Right..

There will come a point were we will stop paying for our EU membership. Agreed?

The Government will have extra cash in the pot for distribution to industries that relied on Kick backs from the EU. Agreed?

When you say “What makes you think this will happen”? Why would it not?

If the conservative government decide not to redistribute that money fairly to the industries who rely on the EU grants then I can’t see them being in power for very long. And that leads us on to the power of Democracy [Another positive of leaving the EU behind]

Regarding that Bus. It was certainly an ambiguous statement. But if any remain voter seriously thought that it meant our full EU membership fee would be redirected to the NHS then they deserved to lose the vote.

We are all Leavers now. Lets just get on with it. The world hasn’t ended.

Sammy, the tax on foreign traffic using our roads will help to fund the NHS. You know the one that the EU wouldn’t let Britain introduce despite all other members having it. This revenue will run into billions for the Government annually and along with overseas trade which we can now expect will offset any losses by leaving the EU dictatorship. It may take a while and may be difficult at first but rest assured in a couple of years time that some members of the EU will look at Britain with envious eyes.

It’s all coming out now, just been on news that the EU have been funding Chinese Steel, the very competitor that have been grabbing our trade.

I was a bit uncertain about taking the decision to vote out, a week on, boy am I glad we did it. :woohoo:

Not sure if this is the tact that he should have taken, but to be fair to him Farage has not pussy footed about like your typical politicians when addressing a body like the EU.

That is not a given. There will be compromises on all aspect of trade and tax. The EU know that our red line is immigration control. If we want control then we will have to pay for it in the trade and tax negotiations.

We need to actively reduce our reliance on EU trade over the next decade. Only then will we be in a stronger position in future negotiations.

Anybody who thinks we will regain full control over immigration, trade and tax are mistaken.

Nuneaton. The UK has been taxing foreign trucks for about two years now.

Since when have banks been concerned about to whom they lend money? They do not give a flyer about any affect it may have on EU jobs. They are only interested in how it will benefit them.
Do you really think this will change once we leave the EU?

RP. A sensible and realistic post.

Sammy, the tax has not come in yet tho it should have back in 2006. The tories tried to get it thru again a couple of months ago that’s when the EU commission threatened to sue the UK. God knows we have tried hard enough. I may not like Cameron but he tried to resolve the issues that he himself thought Britain needed but they didn’t budge. Do you think the EU will stay as it is now or do you see other members following Britains lead?. Also marrer do you think we were right now in hindsight not to change to the single currency. I wonder what will happen if others leave will the Euro remain. Back to the tax, we wanted to charge 10 quid but I’m not sure if that was daily or visit. I imagine it was a daily charge which would be quite expensive.
