Did anyone read the piece in the Sun? Watford dont want him to return to them after farming him out on loan in Greece. His career totally nose-dived after leaving us I feel sorry for him. The lad should have stayed put and not been swayed by agents chasing the big bucks.

Ellington said he loved his time here and would love to come back one day but he felt he had to leave on a “matter of principle” but didnt expand on that.

I have just been watching an American programme by the way and it appears to have rubbed off on me a little !!16 December 2010 at 1:41 am #53308I never rated the duke and i reckon Roberts carried him a lot, he chased the £ and a BIG CLUB  and now he is reaping what he has sown.

Did you watch the same team as me?
He was outstanding when he was with us, by far the best centre forward we have ever had.
Whether he would have made it in the PL with us we will unfortunately never know.
Carried by JR, you’re having a laugh there Landgate.
JR certainly complimented him well, but he never carried him.16 December 2010 at 2:11 am #53315I never rated the duke and i reckon Roberts carried him a lot, he chased the £ and a BIG CLUB  and now he is reaping what he has sown.

AND MISSED LOADS………….
16 December 2010 at 2:33 am #53318wasn’t our football more exciting to watch when we played 2 upfront? ;)
16 December 2010 at 2:36 am #53319Missed loads of chances I assume you meant LG as you can’t ‘miss’ a goal ;) .. And if he did miss loads of chances, why did he start bagging them when Roberts was there? Did Roberts improve Ellingtons accuracy too? There is no way Roberts carried him in the slightest.
The point I was going to make is, I think he would have been amazing for us in the prem and think he has all the attributes to be a CLASS striker and easily make the England set-up had he stayed at Wigan.

16 December 2010 at 2:52 am #53321Not a patch on Zaki.
16 December 2010 at 2:54 am #53322He was fantastic for us he had the lot while he played for us,pace, he could dribble and beat a man, jump very well and had a terrific shot on him, scored 59 goals in 134 games

Zaki was awsome for a VERY short spell, ’till the defenders wised up to his style.
