http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emile_Heskey16 December 2010 at 3:19 am #53333Ah, Wikipedia, it must be true then. Although there are many who would argue the fact. ;)
Seriously, i believe that if Ellington had stayed with us he would have had a very good chance of playing for England.
Heskey’s England career was re-ignited once he started playing for us.
Right club and all that.Another point, was there someone called Ricketts, from Bolton, who played for England?
Do you think he was better than Ellington just because he was an England player.?
Ellington or Ricketts, make your call.16 December 2010 at 3:26 am #53334Ah, Wikipedia, it must be true then. Although there are many who would argue the fact. ;)Seriously, i believe that if Ellington had stayed with us he would have had a very good chance of playing for England.

Ellington or England international Ricketts.?16 December 2010 at 10:58 am #53342You answer my questions and I might answer yours.
Ellington or England international Ricketts.?Glad you have kept stubborn Arky. LG won’t answer because Ellington is clearly the superior striker. He was also a lot better than Jay Bothroyd has ever been. Ellington could have definitely made it into the England set-up, or at least had the potential to be if he kept up his form with us!
16 December 2010 at 11:13 am #53343Ellington was a decent 2nd and 3rd division striker,he never cut it in t`top flight.
So all this compareing with Heskey is cobblers,Hesk has bin a top flight player for 10 years.
