Tickles me how many of you think he cares about the club.

Tickles me how absolutely ridiculous you can be sometimes. Sorry, most of the time

MY ONLY GRIPE IS THAT OUR MANAGER IS MEDDLING WITH THE TEAM FAR TOO MUCH. THE TEAM HAS PLAYED REALLY WELL AND WON, OR HAS PLAYED REALLY WELL AND DRAWN OR LOST WHEN THEY DIDN’T DESERVE TO LOSE, SO MY MESSAGE TO ROSLER IS, “DON’T TRY AND FIX THINGS THAT AREN’T BROKEN, OR YOU’LL SPOIL THEM”.

I’ll challenge anyone to predict with confidence what our team will look like against Brentford. I’ll even challenge anyone to predict 6 of the outfield players who will play against Brentford.
We are almost a quarter way through the season, these questions should be easy to answer. I bet the fans of teams like Forrest, Norwich, Derby, Watford, Ipswich, Boro etc can accurately answer these questions without blinking.

Lets hope we kick start the season with 6 points in the next 2 games and lets also hope that if we do beat Brentford, he plays the same team, if available, against Millwall. :cheer:

I don’t think that anyone who follows the comments on this forum will doubt that you are indeed a long standing and loyal supporter of the club. However, it is still only down to opinion as to how the team and club are being managed.

I am not saying this is you, but there are a lot of people here (and on other forums) who take out a team of youngsters/pub team/amateur enthusiasts on a Sunday morning and then after having honed their skills on Championship Manager think that they understand the complete complex mechanics of running a professional football team worth (real) millions of pounds. It can’t happen. Yes, there are times when decisions are taken and questioned but can that not be down to the ‘other’ manager out thinking/tactically our game plan – because this works both ways; by example the way we took apart Birmingham was great but the fans/press/keyboard warriors in the Midlands must have been apoplectic with anger as to how they got it so wrong.

All I am saying is that we are in transition, players still need to find their levels, the manager still needs to be sure of competency, we are only in October, Mr Whelan (quite rightly) still sees everyone on a regular basis as part of his management routine, we are improving and we will make at least the play-offs this season – and I believe that.

There is no way we are as bad as the current league table suggests. A lot of hard work needed to get to the play-offs but there is absolutely no reason why it can’t happen, I agree

Ah but griff, don’t forget the plan according to yosser.

“He has taken around 600m off Sky that has been the plan since 1995”

So when Mr Whelan bought the the club in 95, days before we were expected to fold and rock bottom of the league pyramid. DW knew we would definitely win 3 promotions and manage to stay in the Prem for 8 seasons. He worked out that nearly 20 years later Sky money would go through the roof and that he would pocket 600m. That’s what I call a plan oh and don’t forget he didn’t buy the stadium which for some very strange reason today is called the DW Stadium. I don’t know just how we have tolerated this man all these years I mean since he arrived in 95 he has completely ruined the club eh yosser?.

Also, he dropped really lucky in finding a set of Premier League players who agreed to play for Wigan for nothing for 8 years thus allowing him to keep hold of about £240m (conservative estimate of 8 seasons’ wages at £30m) of that £600m. Jammy bastard.

Also, Premier League Sky money went up to £60m per club per season that season just finished (when Wigan weren’t actually in it). Prior to that it was only about £40m per year. So, 8 years at £40m gives him £320m. If we assume that those pesky players did actually want paying then he was left with just £80. Not bad, I accept.

Oh, except he had to build a stadium (as you say), buy one or two players along the way to replace the 20 or so players he asset-stripped at about £25m per man and fund the ten years BEFORE the £600m Premier League money kicked-in to actually get there.

    Tight-fisted twat.

The way he manipulated all those nice policemen types to give up their weekends and work for nowt was amazing and then he had the bloody nerve to make us pay as much for our season tickets as they were paying in the Conference AND kept them at that price. AAAARRRRGGGGHHH makes the blood boil ;)

My next game is today, Bamber Bridge v Chorley in the FA Cup, should be a good game with a good atmosphere! £7 if anyone fancies it but be early as this one is expected to sell out!

Saw all the horses and riot vans in the main high street near to where I work
hardly the Milan derby but it takes all sorts !

More police than a Wigan home game! Surveillance vans and coppers filming the crowd! Also frisked on the way in and some fans got interviewed by police with cameras? No trouble as far I could see and a convincing 4-1 win for the Magpies! One more win and they go into the draw for the first round proper!

Nob End weren’t playing so Lancashire Old Bill had to earn their overtime somewhere

I was near Victory Park this morning on business…one of the better non league grounds for sure.

If I am performing well in my job, I would be totally miffed if my boss says well done mate, done the business there, but I’m bringing Fred Bloggs in next week in your place, take a break sunshine.

Yes, but you’d also have a decent case to present in court which is why it doesn’t happen. Whether you like it or not, football is a totally different business to normal ones like project management or window cleaning or health and safety management.

If you don’t believe me, go and line up with Horc at the DW stadium and apply for the manager’s job and see if you get a go at it. If you don’t know Horc, he will be the one swearing at any young kids that happen to be walking past.[/quote]

Us football managers have to swear a lot to get the lazy prima donnas to perform.

Anyway don’t come on here telling how me how to do my job, I don’t come to your work and tell you how to sweep up!!

Ah, you kill me Greavsie. You have no idea what I do for a living, though you do know that it isn’t sweeping up. However, we all know for a fact that you eff and jeff in front of 7 year old kids.

Where are you working anyway, these days? Inter Milan?

Plus we got to play in that stadium and who knows we may even own it plus weve seen three fantastic promotions, an Auto Windscreens Trophy, A league Cup Final and an FA Cup win and semi final. We also have got to play against and see some of the worlds greatest players and see our Latics beat them. Oh and Wigan Athletic in Europe. Just say those words again. FA Cup winners and Wigan Athletic in Europe!
Go on again FA Cup winners and Wigan Athletic in Europe. Amazing! The greatest story in the history of British football and we have all witnessed it.
FFS Dave much gratitude from me for letting me live a dream and if Dave has creamed 600 million off Sky in the process, well done Dave.
We are in a great stadium playing against great clubs still and not piss wet through and shivering at Springy playing South Liverpool on a Wednesday. However if we were back in non league and playing Chorley or Alty again piss wet through on a Wednesday evening I would still be there because this is my great little club!!

            Good post donny.

But i also agree with another post that too much emphasis has been put onto getting back into the premier league as well.

If we go forward with that attitude, we will soon be putting too much emphasis on getting 3 nurps. :woohoo:

              From Matlock to ManU
              What a journey!
