14 September 2018 at 2:47 am #171747We can compare it to grounds like Leigh and Widnes instead though if you like where they have failed to sell allocations for cup semi finals?
Why not compare it like-for-like (ie an away league fixture at a local rival)? I note you chose not to compare it to the Saints V Wigan league game last month when well over 3000 made the trip across the hill.
Or better still, don’t bring another sport into the thread just to try and score points.

And well over 3000 will make the trip the “17 miles” you quoted for this one as well.
14 September 2018 at 5:57 pm #171754Funnily enough there could be many supporters going to Nob town who don’t attend home games and more who only attend the odd home game and many more ST holders too will be going. Still a long time before the game with two home games for fans to buy tickets over the counter. We could be in a top six position too before this match.

If the pr**k wants to compare like for like, he can perhaps look at how many we took to Doncaster on our last two visits for league games and how many eggies made the trip to the same ground for the Challenge Cup Semi Final.

Yes lets compare like for like, how many tics travelled to Doncaster on the last two occasions to watch league games against how many you eggs took to the same ground for your big cup semi final.

Howdy LMB, how are you keeping marrer
Seem to remember us having great followings wherever we went. Portsmouth for a Saturday night game, Spurs on a Sunday. If you go off our home numbers then our away percentages are excellent and have been throughout the leagues. For the size of our fanbase and the geography aspect Latics fans can be proud of their loyalty on their travels.
15 September 2018 at 1:28 am #171763Yes but Doncaster was a Friday night on the M62 wah wah wah.
A mate of mine at the rugby actually moaned about it at the time so I said “you wanna try Norwich on a Tuesday”. He replied with “but its not the M62 is it” Well no its not. Its not even a motorway for the most part.
The idiots who run the sport do a good enough job of ruining it, but the fans really are on another planet at times.
15 September 2018 at 3:54 am #171768Wigan vs Warrington at the DW was on in the local tonight. A lot of empty seats in the DW I noticed, but the pub was quite busy with rugby fans..?
Odd how this antagonistic sunderland / Wigan rugby fan persistently comes on here with his innocently but yet obviously fishing posts…
15 September 2018 at 12:21 pm #171772They are only antagonistic to those who perpetually carry a fucking great chip on their shoulder and refuse to move themselves out of the 1980s.
The DW has empty seats every matchday, so seeing them for a rugby game is nothing new. Its too big for the support of either club who rent it. It’d be great to see 25000 there every week and plans to fill in the corners due to demand constantly exceeding supply, but its a fact that most of the folk of Wigan will not pay to watch live sport, and no matter how low you make the prices, they wont attend. If you don’t agree, then see how many extra are on there this coming Friday when its £10 a ticket.
As an aside, I was too busy watching the game yesterday to look at this thread. Although I note Egg was on here posting midway through the 2nd half. Maybe he was posting on three separate threads from the DW during a break in play – or maybe he didn’t go. Maybe he’s one of the 1700 who has snapped up a ticket for Preston, or maybe he’ll post his opinions of the game based on Wish FM and 2 minutes on Quest’s Saturday night.
Does that make him as bad as those who were in the pub?
15 September 2018 at 12:32 pm #171773Nope didnt go. Little one isnt very well. Not got a ticket to preston as i will be in tenerife.
15 September 2018 at 12:34 pm #171774Latics wont be renting the ground for long mutty lad. I mean, they only rent it from themselves as a tax fiddle anyway.
