Can’t tackle won’t tackle he can run about but he doesn’t do it for me. Bury second goal proves my point the lad doesn’t tackle

9 November 2015 at 2:09 am #145686Why would it be a wind up because I disagree why do you think we let so many goals in. The ball goes straight through midfield. Watch against Rochdale our midfield don’t tackle mcann runs past them from defence and when we go forward they are not in support. Like I say it’s just my opinion.

Like I say it’s just my opinion. It would be a wind-up because, for all of the faults that people have picked up on regarding Perkins, putting his foot in and making a tackle is not one of them. In fact, those who have criticised him have said that’s all he does do well!
For the second goal against Bury, yes, he should have tackled the man – and I’m not sure why he didn’t, but there have been three separate occasions this season where, in a similar situation, he has been the only player who has chased back and has made the tackle.
You’ve said earlier that he should have taken one for the team? Why? It was a meaningless FA game (and before you mention going on a cup run etc, we’ve no chance of winning it, so what’s the point of adding more games to an already busy schedule when we’re trying to win promotion?), so it’s pointless risking yellow or red card that would then rule him out of league games. Maybe that’s why he pulled out of the tackle at Bury?
And for the record, I’d put the blame equally on Morgan as he was ball watching and didn’t pick up on the other lad charging up in support.
9 November 2015 at 4:28 pm #145690A real good signing. A 100 percenter. Doesn’t hide and works his stones off. A die for the shirt attitude. It stands to reason a player so involved will also make some mistakes but I wish we could have had a few like ‘Diesel’ last season.
11 November 2015 at 1:16 am #145724C what happens when you have a decent midfield no goals against and four for.

Either that or you are more clueless that I could have possibly envisaged.
16 November 2015 at 1:08 pm #145856Perkins really is the engine in midfield. Another good game at Rochdale.
Bit of an Ed Sheeran lookalike. Must be a song there.16 November 2015 at 10:49 pm #145859The lad was going through sheer agony for the last 5-10 mins of the match on Saturday.
After he touched the ball he crouched down and started rubbing his legs, all 3 subs had been used so he had to soldier on.Never seen anyone doing that before, apart from Vic Reeves on Shooting Stars when he had a fit bird on the panel. :cheer:

What a journey!17 November 2015 at 12:47 am #145862Yeah FatFan, I saw that, what happened. Hope he’s ok for next game. He’s great. Never stops, and what a shame that shot of his didn’t go in . He deserves to get goal of the season, infact I think I’ll give it to him on that shot alone.
FatFan, I wonder if you were behind me at Rochdale??
17 November 2015 at 2:29 am #145863I wasn’t sat behind anyone, I was sat directly behind the exit to the concourse. B)
