With the new belief and our fantastic away support then I certainly agree with you.
Amazing what a few wins can do and I have been surprised at how entertaining this division is.
A far cry from last season

Hope so marrer I still have nightmares about walking off at Springy with us 0-3 down in THAT game. Remember one Xmas at Vale Park so some of our lot were in fancy dress and recall wetting misel watching somebody dressed as a pint of Guiness trying to get through the turnstiles   .

There looked like a cracking turnout at Chesterfield. What were the official figures? Anyone know? How many are expected to go to Vale Park?

Official figure for Chesterfield was 1009. I reckon more will go to Vale.

Was talking to a Steward at Chesterfield who said we had sold 800 tickets, that means 200 turned up on the day.
Same again Satdy, pay on the day, so I think it will be in excess of 1200. :cheer:

Port Vale have a rather well known fan, a certain Robbie Williams. Have Wigan got any such famous fans? Don’t mention Stuart Maconie, he doesn’t count! ha ha ha Richard Ashcroft does and so he is my choice, who have you got to add? I don’t believe the Russian connection by the way!

I’m showing my age and rambling a bit but I’ll never forget staying to the end of that game. There was my father, my brother, a mate of mine from school and me all running around like lunatics in the ‘away’ end when the 4th and 5th went in (Well I say it was the away end, I don’t remember there ever being any away supporters in that shed at the top of the hill behind the goal, in fact I think we were the only ones there).

The other memory I have is going watch us getting battered by Everton in the FA cup the next year and when we went 2 down I told my dad “Well we were 2 down against Northwich in the 2nd round so there’s still a chance”, then when the 3rd went in I told him “Remember Port Vale”. I’ll never forget his response: “This isn’t Port Vale”.

Port Vale showed an impressionable kid that miracles can happen. Everton was when I grew up and realised they very rarely do.

Never thought Port Vale could be beaten as a Latics experience. But on 11th May 2013, by the biggest margin ever it was.

So if you missed Port Vale, I can tell you now that as long as you were at Wembley, you have it beat.

He played for Wigan Juniors and was a Wigan fan back then! The very use of the term ‘Plastic Manc’ Speaks for itself I think!

                      Sir Bradley Wiggins.

                        I want a new formation:

                        4 up front.

                        Grigg; Vikick; Davies; Jordi
                        3 midfield
                        Perkins, Kellet, Power

                        3 in the back

                        Donnervon, Mcann, James (wing back).

                        O’Donnell.

and we’ll beat PsV, maybe with double figures.

Not sure if Bradley is a Latics Mon but I heard he was a season ticket holder for The Cuckoos once.
