That crowd may be a guideline to the amount of season tickets we have sold.
11 August 2017 at 12:10 am #161123If it wasn’t Sundays crowd will because not many will pay on the day.
11 August 2017 at 12:35 am #161124first 5 positives;
Winning 2-1
Josh Laurent’s debut goal and good all round performance
Donervan Daniels, finally getting some game time and looking quite solid
The performances of Colclough, Merrie, Thomas, Gilby and James
The state of the pitch [although why did they have to water the fooker]Now 5 Negatives;
The poor defending of set pieces [all night]
Giving away a scrappy goal
The queues at the tuck shop despite a gate of only 3,391 albeit all of um being in one stand.I can only think of 3. :cheer:
Shocking from the Latics (un)faithful. Glad we don’t get crowds like that on at the rugby. Not even in the lean years where it actually went up circa 2005.
That figure was still more than watched the egg clodding world cup final globally.
And check your history about attendances and get your facts right.
The rugby league world cup was watched by 18.8 million viewers just in England, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand alone.
Wigan Warriors average attendance 2004 – after finishing 4th – 12649
Wigan Warriors average attendance 2005 – after finishing 7th – 13891
Wigan Warriors average attendance 2006 – after finishing 8th – 14445
Wigan Warriors average attendance 2007 – after finishing 6th – 16039FACTS!
Latics attendances have dropped from (2006) 20,000 to 9,000 and will be considerably lower again this season.

Nothing new here then, Latics win a game, chubsters talk crowds.
I see Bury FC have made the main event channel on sky sports, can’t find a super 8’s anywhere. There’s cricket, tennis, tiddlewinks and marbles being shown but no blobbies. :lol:

What a journey!11 August 2017 at 1:24 am #161128And the day that the gypos get a worldwide audience as big as watched the greatest sporting triumph by a Wigan team ever. Then they can spout about crowds. At least the mighty Latics play all their home games in the town unlike the minority sport team who will go as far as Australia to try to drum up interest (yeah good luck with that). Pity they don’t move there permanently but it still wouldn’t be far enough. Joke sport.

Over the four year period you chose, lets look at the comparisons-
Wigan Worriors 2004 – after finishing 4th – 12649 Latics 2004 – after finishing 27th – 9483
Wigan Worriors 2005 – after finishing 7th – 13891 Latics 2005 – after finishing 22nd – 11563
Wigan Worriors 2006 – after finishing 8th – 14445 Latics 2006 – after finishing 10th – 20233
Wigan Worriors 2007 – after finishing 6th – 16039 Latics 2007 – after finishing 17th – 18159Worriers average league position over that period was 6th and their average attendance was 14256
Latics average league position was 19th and their average attendance was 14859So, even though the eggs finished in the top six each season, and the Latics spent two of those same years in Division Two we still averaged over 600 more per match.
I wonder how many more our average attendance would be if we averaged a top six position and the cuckoos averaged 19th position in their tin pot sport. We can do a comparison of the last 10 years as well if you want.
11 August 2017 at 2:55 am #161133The point was loyalty. Not glory hunting when things are going well and as the Latics fans love to ridicule the Warriors on here i thought i would bring you back to reality.
11 August 2017 at 4:26 am #161135We do not ridicule the Warriors we just ridicule the myths and the hypes promoted by the mass media and would like to see them report reality instead of lazy journalistic fantasism.
We could never argue against Wigan being a giant name in the world of Rugby League but we just detest the lazy journalistic football reporters perennial reports of us living in the Warriors shadow which we don’t.
FFS they wouldn’t even have a ground to play on if it wasn’t for Latics, a point inadvertently missed by journalists and the mass media in general when hyping up the Warriors achievements.11 August 2017 at 9:54 am #1611363 or 4 seasons while still finishing high up in the top league aren’t lean years. The true lean years for the rugby club were the 70s and early 80s. What were their crowds then. And what were they in the mid to late 80s onwards when silverware abounded? Now what was you saying about glory hunting?
11 August 2017 at 12:08 pm #161138Jason, are we desperate for posters on this Latics site? Fucking lardies coming on here spouting utter shite, get em fucked off mate.
Any of us doing the same wouldn’t last 5 minutes on the blobby forums!
Fuck the EFL

You get thrown off a rugby board for pointing out facts. On here, rugby fans just make themselves look stupid 9 times out of 10.
At least we have found out why Yosser doesn’t like Dave Whelan. I mean, how could you like a guy who saved your club from extinction.

That sounds an awful lot for a league 1 game. Is this the going rate now for the division we are in. I would say no more than £15 adults & £5 – £10 for kids.
